Esteemed artist Jamie Jones is set to drop an EP titled Handy Work on his Hot Creations imprint this September. The release features three standout tracks that emulate Jamie’s distinct production skills and ear for the dancefloor. 

“Handy Work came about at the end of a studio session after working for hours on another song, I had a little jam playing with some classic diva samples I’d found. I always loved this sample used by the legend Junior Vasquez in 1994. I literally made the first version in about an hour, and when I played it out I knew I had something, the crowd reaction was killer. This track is a simple party anthem, to welcome back the parties!” - Jamie Jones 

Title track Handy Work sets the tone with sharp percussion, prominent vocal stabs and a wonky, driving bassline. Next up, Mind Meld With Spock has a stumbling groove, with hypnotic keys and a striking clap. Last up, Sunday In Paris is a blissful number, perfect for the sunrise hours with emotive and elevating chords.

Sagmen co-founders Andre Salmon and Aert Prog team up for a solid single, featuring remixes from Matteo Rosolare & Jojo Angel, Mr Jefferson, as well as Aert himself. 

Individually, Ecuadorian Salmon has appeared on Leftroom, Repopulate Mars, Hottrax and Get Physical, while Parisian Aert Prog has had output on Anima Somnis, Laboratory Records and Popof’s Form. Launching Sagmen at the end of 2017, both producers have appeared on separate releases on the label so far, however the founders now come together for a collaborative release, blending both their sounds together. 

‘Sagmen’ opens the release with shuffling kicks and claps whilst alarming drones and bumpy rhythms creep throughout, before Daylight Robbery Records boss Matteo Rosolare teams up with Greece’s Jojo Angel version comes bouncing in, littered with crisp percussion and shaky hums. 

Twisted Fusion and Resonance Records producer Mr. Jefferson’s take on the track rolls in after, full of thunderous tones and clanking beats. These carve the way for Aert Prog’s remix, which strips everything back, twisting it into moody roller.

The next release on Libero Records comes via Utrecht natives, Relativ. The duo, with a commendable back catalogue of releases on some of House Music’s most-favourable labels, shows us exactly how that collection came to be - with a more than worthy show of freshly squeezed beats. Their ‘Esperanzado’ EP comes with two impressively unique original cuts and also features a remix from one of the UK's hottest tipped up and coming starlets, ALISHA.

Opening the release, the title track’s loose and driving groove is infectious from the first bar. With clear influence from that Deep House and Minimal/Tech style that is so prevalent amongst artists from that region, the duo’s creative depth comes out to play whilst retaining an impressive amount of signature Libero style. Layers of perfectly crafted percussive factors melt into the robust kick/sub combo that pulses throughout the track. Add to that the rippling arp of soft synths and an expanding vocal hook and you have the perfect mixture for an unparalleled terrace track with bags of personality.

Taking things down a different route, ‘What About’ is another enslaving dancefloor heater. A track with a heavy low end and a splash of 90’s house nostalgia, Relativ come into a world of their own with this one. Loosely swung rhythm combines with a huge sub-line, offbeat snares, vox stabs and another profound vocal whirl to leave you with a booming end product - full of personality and heads down energy.

Rounding off the release, ALISHA’s remix of ‘What About’ wastes no time in getting straight into that gritty driving momentum that she is fast becoming a master of. Cleverly recycling components from the original, she lets the track run away with you during the transition sections, before sending you back into that chugging 4/4 coarseness.
