Italian artist Samuele Scelfo is next to land on Hot Creations with his two-track release My Father in Ibiza 1988, which is inspired by his father’s unique vinyl collection that he bought on the White Isle almost thirty years ago. Samuele explains that “dedicating the EP to him was the least I could do.” 

First up is Hygge, a trippy affair with prominent and infectious vocal hooks. Samuele reveals “when I made Hygge I wanted to create a stylish atmosphere that reminds me of the late 80s, with iconic toms and synths that balance the female vocal. Once I made those main sounds, I created the low end and the drums to let the track perform well in a club scenario.” Next up, Don't Mess is a heavy-duty roller made for the late night dance floor. “For this track, I brought out my darker side. I really wanted to reach Jamie Jones’ strange and unique sounds, combined with a hammering groove and a synth, which drives the listener throughout the record.” 

Born in Florence, Samuele Scelfo has always been a lover of music. As a full time resident at Morositas Club in Siena (Italy), within a few years he brought his sound to some of the best Italian and European clubs, sharing the booth with many of the greatest artists in the underground scene. His releases can be found on influential labels such as Relief, Elrow Music, Snatch!, Müse, Deeperfect and Wow! Recordings. He also has an army of supporters that include Jamie Jones, Marco Carola, Green Velvet, Matthias Tanzmann, Lee Foss, Michael Bibi, Gorgon City and many others.

Anyone familiar with the music of Sinisa Tamamovic knows the man is an expert in techno floor fillers. The tracks here are no exception; Valentina and Confused reside in the world of bold, unrelenting grooves constructed with little more than bass and drums: and they get the job done. The bass lines are distinctly Sinisa; simple, catchy, and mixed exquisitely, they take on a whole new attitude when played on club systems.
Valentina starts things strong, its driving rhythm gaining energy as atmospheres develop and an otherworldly vocal enters, a Latin American street rhyme that gives the track some international flare. Confused is more raw, employing rough drums and ethereal sound effects. Either one will do the trick for peak hours and late nights, and expect to hear these all over the place at WMC 2016.

Jamie Jones’ Hottrax welcomes Italian artist Federico Grazzini this March with two house cuts entitled ‘Gonna Get It’. 

Born in Cortona, DJ and producer Federico Grazzini has a well-founded connection with Ibiza, having residencies at both The Zoo Project and Unusual Suspects when not performing as far as London’s fabric or Tokyo’s Womb where his versatile DJ sets blend house, techno and funk. Having released on labels like Avotre and Decay, Grazzini now joins Hottrax with ‘Gonna Get It’ following appearances by Mason Collective, System2 and DJ Sneak & Tripmastaz (as RareTwo Inc.). 

‘Gonna Get It’ delivers a bouncing bassline with deft percussion and precise drums, with an intricate melodic progression marrying expertly on top. While ‘Purple Fur’ offers playful syncopated chord stabs enveloping above grooving drums and percussion.
