Greasy off the Racing Line

La Colina was inspired by warm memories of southern France and Italy, landscapes on a human scale, where everything feels gentle and close. It evokes the simple act of wandering, watching insects crawl along a sunlit earth wall by an old road leading to a small hill. The piece shifts focus from the large and dramatic to the quiet and small. It’s a response to a broader cultural tendency, in electronic music, experimental work, and visual art—where emotion often needs to be intense, dark, or disruptive to be felt. La Colina moves in the opposite direction. It challenges the listener to engage with tenderness and vulnerability, to reconnect with a childlike way of seeing: curious, sensitive, and open. 

Yoann Pisterman is a French sound artist and composer based in Berlin. Originally trained in visual arts, his practice began with drawn landscapes blending architecture and vegetation. Sound emerged in response and gradually became the core of his work. He describes it as “painting with sound.” His compositions move between ambient, kraut, electroacoustic, and experimental forms; balancing softness with density, surface with depth. A kind of childlike topography for deep listeners: light yet intricate, subtly shifting perception and sculpting space. His second full-length is set to appear on Hologram Opera in October 2025.

Marijn S is a Dutch producer and DJ who showcases the organic age of dance with radiant breaks and gritty, icy soundscapes.

As a producer, Marijn combines multiple contrasts in her work; the raw, pure and timeless essence of music. Embracing simplicity and tranquility, Marijn is also intrigued by darker, experimental, and complex music. Her artistic expression is characterised by the playful juxtaposition of these contrasts.

She’s played notable gigs such as De School (AMS) Garage Noord (AMS), Dekmantel Festival (AMS), La Cheetah (Glasgow) and participated in events like Ilian Tape’s Amsterdam takeover at the Melkweg. Marijn S has recently made her live performance debut for Speedy J's STOOR / PINK NOISE during ADE, playing only with her so described ‘machine of self expression’: One hour full of her own creations, ranging from textured ambience and dreamy IDM to heavy distorted bass, abstract noise and heavy hitting electro & techno.

Her most recent EP, Digital Tears, is entirely composed and produced using the Elektron Machinedrum MKII. Some tracks, like Digital Tears and Soft Fall, were recorded in a single take to capture the raw energy, live vibe, and personal touch that come from working with analog equipment. She uses techniques like layering, resampling and overdubbing to produce a richer, denser, and reimagined sound (Gleam), as well as recording several elements individually, processing and arranging them in a way that enhances the overall coherence of the sound (Magnetic Fields).

“...Divine Ritual is an transdisciplinary project that moves between the dimensions of performance art and live creation. The experimental landscape is primarily constituted by the relationship between performers and spectators, within a creative path aimed at generating a ritual. The spectator, with their presence, will be a founding part of the creative design of the ritual itself. The ritual, which draws on the essential elements of Greek mythology, particularly the myth of Persephone and the Eleusinian Mysteries, is the archetypal experience in which sound and body are fused together, energy and matter converge in a single language, and full immersion between the terrestrial world and the cosmos is achieved. In an experimental process, the manipulation of electronic music sound will rhythmically punctuate the various moments, reaching a peak of tension and sonic pressure, determining the foundations of the ritual action, serving as a moment of ablution and then of expressive effusion for the performers, exploring the possibility of alerting the body enveloped in an uninterrupted sonic envelope and exposed to a collective vibration in which it is impossible to perceive a separation between performers and spectators. From listening to this inspiration, and guided by intuition and perception, the performers will linger in an empirical area with the sole support of three dramaturgical keys: DESCENT, SEARCH, ASCENT (as in the diachronic sequence of the Eleusinian Mysteries). Max Cooper is an electronic composer, multi-disciplinary artist, music label founder and former scientist who has carved out a unique space in music and visual art.

He holds a PhD in computational biology at the same time as being the first contemporary electronic musician to perform at the ancient Acropolis theatre in Athens and one of the first clutch of musicians to produce in Dolby Atmos.

Cooper has enquired for over 15 years through music, collaborations, and his label Mesh, to explore the intersections between the arts and sciences with installations, performances, immersive experiences, online media, music videos and live events.  Anchored throughout is his emotive approach, connecting how ideas and forms feel, in a manner accessible to us all. 
 
As an artist synonymous with the evolution of club culture, Cooper honed his craft as a DJ with a 10 year residency at legendary Midlands techno event Firefly where he formed a foundational relationship with Architecture Social Club, with whom he still collaborates on extravagant immersive installations.

"I want to encourage the acceptance of electronic music as an art form like any other. Bringing electronic music and abstract audio-visual projects into concert halls, museums and galleries is liberating - the art world opens up doors to communicate in ways that aren’t possible elsewhere."
  
Pivoting from computational biology to electronic music might not seem like the most natural career transition, but for Cooper the commonalities are obvious:
 
"In both fields, you're in a sense, free. Free from the limits of living systems, free from the limits of corporeal sound. The only constraints are in your mind."
