A remix I made for Au Revoir Simone, a slow dubby sort of affair, not really for the the dancefloor.

I didn't want to use the full vocals so I went for a high-passed ghostly sort of effect with them, it catches some nice bands in the top of her voice though!

The occasional fisherman and graduated psychologist Vlad aka Monokle is responsible for the third LP on Ki Records. The Title of the Record is „Saints“ and it will be available on Vinyl, CD and Digital.
It’s already the third LP release for the 26 year old producer from St. Petersburg. He’s been making music since the mid-00s and has a massive creative output. As he says, he takes his inspiration from silence and Eric Satie is one of his biggest idols. His favorite label is Warp, so it’s no wonder that some of the nine tracks do have reminiscences with the British label (e.g. Holt Found, Arrows or Homesick). But instead of quoting the sound of his big idols, he gives it an individual touch and continues the evolution of that certain kind of sound. His main Influences were IDM and Glitch, before he became more in touch with Ambient and Drone. All these different influences can be heard as sound fragments in his tracks. Like in a kaleidoscope, these fragments unite; get torn apart and in the end melt together again. Monokle says that “Music with simple rhythms and catchy beats gets him bored pretty quick”. So he got rid of static listening and producing structures, to go his own way when creating music. The Vinyl version of Saints got three bonus tracks in the form of remixes by Fybe:one, WOLS and Milinal. The illustrations for the cover were made by Argentinean artist Carolina Nino. Just like Monokle she works with different shapes and pieces, bringing them together in a new context.

Max Cooper is an electronic composer, multi-disciplinary artist, music label founder and former scientist who has carved out a unique space in music and visual art.

He holds a PhD in computational biology at the same time as being the first contemporary electronic musician to perform at the ancient Acropolis theatre in Athens and one of the first clutch of musicians to produce in Dolby Atmos.

Cooper has enquired for over 15 years through music, collaborations, and his label Mesh, to explore the intersections between the arts and sciences with installations, performances, immersive experiences, online media, music videos and live events.  Anchored throughout is his emotive approach, connecting how ideas and forms feel, in a manner accessible to us all. 
 
As an artist synonymous with the evolution of club culture, Cooper honed his craft as a DJ with a 10 year residency at legendary Midlands techno event Firefly where he formed a foundational relationship with Architecture Social Club, with whom he still collaborates on extravagant immersive installations.

"I want to encourage the acceptance of electronic music as an art form like any other. Bringing electronic music and abstract audio-visual projects into concert halls, museums and galleries is liberating - the art world opens up doors to communicate in ways that aren’t possible elsewhere."
  
Pivoting from computational biology to electronic music might not seem like the most natural career transition, but for Cooper the commonalities are obvious:
