We’ve got some fresh homegrown Irish techno from Izotope boss Jon10, to kick start your weekend that bit earlier. Jon10 channels deep and tribal rhythms on his latest release ‘Detroit Holds The Secrets’ as part of Sonic Intel’s all Irish VA, focussing on the groovier territories of techno.

JON10 has been committed to bringing hardgroove and groove orientated techno back to Limerick through his party Izotope. Jon10 burst onto the Irish electronic early in the year 2020 and has been rapidly gaining attention with stellar releases, mixes and his Izotope brand.

Jon’s style of mixing and producing is derived from 90s/early2000s techno, which is evident with the sharp cuts and thundering grooves found in both his music and sets. JON10 picked up music production not so long ago and is already embarking on a quest to revive the sounds that once graced the dance floors many decades ago.

Jon10 has recently released on his imprint Izøtope as well as a number of free downloads and edits, coming on various platforms. Jon10 has been refining his sound, and you can hear his sheer dedication to perfecting a vintage techno sound.

The Limerick native showcases a deep yet none the less pounding techno excursion in his latest techno offering. ‘Detroit Hold’s The Secrets’ is fuelled by emphatic bass drums, breakbeats, crisp hats and Detroit style dub chords, as well as sampling the classic techno track ‘Erase – The Secrets’. Deep and banging, just how we like our techno.

Rising German duo Township Rebellion land on Truesoul for their debut label outing teaming up with friend and fellow producer Victor Pilava.

Township Rebellion have been building steam in recent years via memorable releases on Rüfüs du Sol Rose Avenue and Stil Von Talent. Their latest cut, the sublime ‘Doppler’, caught the ear of Adam Beyer and after meeting with the Truesoul boss in early 2021, the ground was laid for a label debut.

‘Mephisto’ meanwhile is one of Township Rebellion’s most requested track I.D’s to date and was a special highlight of their show at São Paolo’s Arca supporting Rüfüs du Sol. The track is propelled by a chugging bottom-end, evocative strings courtesy of violinist Roemisch and otherworldly melody lines.

Filth on Acid is excited to welcome Cari Golden for a new collaboration with label honcho Reinier Zonneveld. "Bending The End" is the second track they recorded together and the follow up of the enormous hit "Things We Might Have Said", which was one of the biggest electronic hits of 2016.

That being said, Cari and Reinier wanted to bring something new to the table and started with a white canvas when composing "Bending The End", and because of that they ended up taking a totally different direction. This time the track comes in two variations, the melody centred original mix and a dancefloor orientated 4AM mix. 

The original mix starts out with a throbbing, deep Moog bassline, and a round, deep bassdrum, while at the same time blending soft, haunting effects and a fragmented, distorted melody. Cari Golden's voice, deep and beautiful, comes in and sets the mood for a hypnotic slow burner. The bassline initiates a subtle chord progression and delicate production skills elevate the mood of the track. Powerful but stripped back drum programming along with short bursts of white noise bring impact for the dancefloor. A long breakdown starts the orchestra by three of the big classic synths - Oberheim, Moog and Juno - and pave the road for unimpeachable ear candy with Cari's angel like voice as the centerpoint of the attention. All the elements come together and form an indisputable peak; without building up too obvious. In the vein of bending the end to the beginning again, the track's outro ends as it started: deep and delicate. The second version in the package - 4AM Mix - has a definite peaktime feel to it. Powerful driving drums and a heavy bed of sub bass kick lead the way to the introduction of looped elements of Cari's voice. Colossal, bassy stabs hint to original in a disrobed way. Long synth notes lying somewhere between bass and melody introduce the harmonies of the original during the breakdowns and translate it to demanding dancefloors in a profound way.
