Shout out to Alternity and Alternative Thinking for having me out!

Back way before I started my journey as a DJ I was a customer at Alternative Thinking. Literally just a nobody, but full of big dreams to see a stage and to play the tracks that resonate with me deeply. So, call it manifestation, call it hard work.. or call it whatever you will - something drove me to take on the countless tasks that I had to in order to become the DJ that everyone knows me as today. In the end, I did everything I had set out to accomplish. 

Through my career, I have had the honour to help run a record label. Sign many artists I look up to, and work on record deals that made impacts across the world. I have also taken the time to play sets at all of my favourite venues and sound systems here in Toronto, while making some really cool friends on the way. Lastly, I had the chance to play at the festivals that I care most about, and move people to feel like they truly heard the best set of the weekend. 

Now, I have had the chance to go full circle and play a set for the venue that  was there for me long before I started. Not only that but the tunes I have selected are nostalgic and from the time period when I began exploring my deep dive of dance music. 

With all that said, I invite everyone to sit back, relax and enjoy a journey into blissful sounds that you may have otherwise forgotten. 

Call it manifestation, or call it whatever you will..

Hi everyone,

Here's a little mix I came up with after compiling a playlist for a jam session @ The Purple Room, with Justin Payne, aka Toorah. First of all, id like to express my gratitude. That was an amazing jam session, and I look forward to being a guest on your youtube show. With that being said, I'm not sure how much of this will end up being played out live. Mostly I was just antsy and over prepared. The result was beautiful. I re-recorded after multiple listens to make something more edible.

This mix is kind of new territory for me, because along with music I would also like to include a strong message. In particular, I would like to use this mix to speak out against rape culture. My first mix was a tease intended to seduce your attention and draw you closer to the speakers. Now that I have your attention, we need to clear something up before we can continue to party and have fun.

This is such an important topic because especially in the music scene, certain individuals still struggle to understand what consent is. Collectively getting intoxicated and enjoying music is no excuse, or space for inappropriate comments or uninvited touching. Further, survivors of abuse have difficulty finding a voice to speak their truth because there is so much ongoing denial when it comes to sexual violence. Putting this message out is an homage to survivors, and also my way of dealing with the anger caused by certain people's abuse.

To the many survivors out there, your bravery and endurance is truly inspiring. Please do not stop speaking your truth. We are on the cusp of making some serious societal change for the better because of your courage to share your stories. For those who know me personally, I am also taking this chance to say I will forever believe you and be on your side if you ever decide to confide in me. 

Moving forward, I need to see men putting effort into asking first, and continue checking in. Its the only way to really have good quality intimate fun in my humble opinion. I need to hear about more men stepping up to the people who they know are abusers instead of standing beside them as friends. I need to know that the spaces we designate as safe for our parties are truly safe for all the attendees. Otherwise how can we possibly move on and have a good time? 

With that being said, let's put an end to rape culture. Let's kick up a storm, and allow the dust to settle. Here's my set from one of the most memorable parties I've been to in a very long time. On top of playing for an hour and a half, I also got a chance to do a killer back to back with Advizer, followed by a beautiful two hour chill out set for the folks as they snoozed. Its been a year since I've published my first mix on SoundCloud. To celebrate, I've made a horribly wicked and wretched cursed mix, and its simply wonderful. The original idea and inspiration for this mix came from my favourite witch, Dr. Leo. I really appreciate your ongoing support and your contribution in this particular project. The final push that tied this project together was a suggestion from someone on the internet who encouraged me to use music as a medium for navigating my own trauma.
