Tasha first made her name as a DJ in the drum & bass community, with her mixes being aired by DJ Flight on BBC 1Xtra and Storm making her resident at her Feline night, she became a firm part of the community, going onto play regularly at Renegade Hardware and across Europe. A dedicated head to the core, her exploratory experiences raving at London’s techno nights, being behind the counter, selling records at BM Soho and listening to more techno started to make their way into her sets and radio shows when she started out with her residency on Rinse FM. Radio has been a backbone of Tasha’s approach as a DJ - expressing her appreciation for electronic music over the course of 4 years on Rinse FM back in 2009 & again since 2018.

Tasha’s DJing style matches this textured background of her influences and has developed into a master-flow of form - weaving tunes together seamlessly from her bass informed home of the UK alongside four four techno forms born in Berlin and Detroit. With an accomplished and atmospheric hold on the dancefloor, her sound is wholly affecting and has taken her to some of the best festivals and clubs in key cities around the world from London to Australia, including Tresor, Glastonbury, Bestival and is a regular at fabric and Corsica Studios. 
Tasha also made her name as an event programmer within electronic music when she began to promote parties at the much-revered venue Plastic People in East London. Her first venture was a co-promotion called Medium that was started in 2007 by a trio of like minds, including her good friend Sigha, where they would book multi-genre parties and alternative sets at a time when this type of programming was almost unheard of.
It was in Dec 2010 when she decided to go it alone at Plastic People and started her own concept called ‘Neighbourhood’, for Tasha to book techno artists who she believes in and loves without compromise from different Neighbourhoods, including artists such as Pangaea, Pariah, Ben Sims, Neil Landstrumm, Zenker Brothers, Henning Baer, Stenny, John Swing.  The Neighbourhood concept has gone on to host parties at many clubs of note, including Pickle Factory, a collaboration with Ben Sims Machine party and Jaded at Corsica Studios, and hosting The Dome at popular Field Maneuvers festival. Plus Goldie invited Neighbourhood to host room 2 at the mighty Metalheadz events when they were at Cable club. Tasha has made a lasting impression on many artists she has booked both with her sets and her parties.
In 2016 Tasha launched the label Neighbourhood with Randomer, Cadans, Kamikaze Space Programme, Metrist and Forest Drive West all featuring to date.
The last couple of years have seen Tasha begin to share her own studio workings with the world, working keenly in the studio behind the scenes, she’s been busy refining her sound. Her debut track landed on the save fabric compilation in 2016 with her next coming is on UK techno king Ben Sim’s massive compilation, ‘Tribology’. 
In an industry where artists are asked to prioritize their art for social media presence, likes and other vacuous pursuits, Tasha is very much in demand for her ‘music first’ attitude, selection and ability.

A refreshing outlook and positive future awaits the DJ, producer, promoter and label owner.

To celebrate 20 years of building Labyrinths, we have decided to release one set from each of the last ten years. I've chosen ten timeless moments that both document the history of the event and provide a historical snapshot of underground electronic music over the past ten years.

We have chosen a broad range--from closing techno sets, to morning ambient sets, to experimental sets to close the night. Each set represents a different side of the event. Taken together, they present a portrait of a decade of music.

Portal Episode 57 by Markus Suckut

Amsterdam’s Ratherlost crew has spent the past few years perfecting the art of the marathon rave. Their home base is Lofi, a cavernous warehouse where sound, light, and visuals fuse into long-haul journeys that stretch well past the 18-hour mark. But epic runtimes mean nothing without the right hands at the controls, and Ratherlost has proven it knows how to curate, pace, and execute like pros.

Lofi’s two-floor setup allows for shifting moods: daylight hours wander through deep, dubby techno, slowly morphing into faster, syncopated rhythms as night tightens its grip. Pacing is everything in a space like this. And when it comes to the craft of pacing, few do it better than Bas Dobbelaer.

Bas is one of our favorite DJs for a reason. He understands that a warm-up set is an architecture rather than just background noise. It shapes the room, sets the tone, and welcomes dancers into the story. The mix we’re thrilled to share today was recorded live at Ratherlost’s Easter Sunday session at Lofi, where Bas shared the bill with artists like Aaron J, Na Nich & Vera Logdanidi, Aurora Halal, DVS1, upsammy, Occa, Agonis, Dasha Rush, Seb H, and Oscar Mulero. Quite the roster.

In the face of that stacked lineup, Bas delivered a masterclass in restraint and elegance. His three-hour set unfolds like a novel, tracing dub techno’s DNA across the past two decades. The vibe is timeless, spacious, and beautifully measured, a perfect example of how to warm up a warehouse without blowing the doors off too soon.
This is precisely the kind of DJing we live for: subtle yet commanding, hypnotic yet full of life. Clear your next 180 minutes. Plug in. And get a little Ratherlost yourself.

Delayed x Ratherlost: Bas Dobbelaer

Berlin based sound designer and live-performer Francesco Devincenti has been making music all of his life and quickly established himself back home in Northern Italy. To further his talents he head to Berlin to study at the S.A.E. Institute and soon went on to a job at Analogcut mastering studio. As such he is a sound design wizard with an exceptional ear for detail and someone who can get real meaning and soul of out the machines he often solders together himself. He is part of a couple of live hardware duos - MORK and TDV - and always fuses ambient, techno, distorted grooves, jungle beats and dub moods into his immersive recordings. 

This new album draws on ten years of life experiences and uses music as a way of telling his own autobiographical story. “With the album I try to explain what I have inside in a way I cannot using only simple verbal communication: those moments of Brutal Reality where you lose something very important and cannot fully express yourself.” Though always obsessed with finding his own musical voice, Devincenti is also inspired by studio masters like King Tubby, Adrian Sherwood and Mark Ernestus. His experimental music follows no existing path and is made on modular systems that result in unpredictable and unconventional ambience and rhythms. A number of collaborations add more flavours to this most rich and rewarding album, including friend Hi.Mo, label boss Simone Gatto and vocalist Alice Lobo. 

The album opens with the unsettling ambiance of ‘Math’ which has haunting synths and lots of little sonic details - glass, water, electricity - that make it all the more absorbing. ‘Fuck You Trip’, ‘Jim Odissey’ and ‘Chiaro Soldiers’ are the trio of tracks featuring Hi.Mo and they explore deep, swirling rhythms and soulful ambiance, beautiful electronic lullabies and frantic drum and percussive programming that suspends you in mid air. 

The compelling mid-section features the cavernous and icy ’Skunk,’ with its plunging drums and cinematic design, foreboding ambiance of ‘Memories’ with sci-fi sounds and deep sonar pules, then the excellent ‘Lord of Lords’ is a dubbed out jungle track with a melancholic mood. The title track is a further exploration of jungle rhythms and swampy underwater atmospheres before minimal masterpiece ‘Euclidean’ has silky rhythms and harmonic bells soothing your mind. The lush ‘6 a.m. Fishing Dub’ with Simone Gatto resets the mood with a perfect swaggering dub cut that sinks you into a blissful reverie, and finally ‘Submission’ with Alice Lobo is another heartwarming and slow motion dub cut with spine tingling vocals and an autumnal mood. 

Brutal Reality is filled with truly freeform electronic music - sounds without borders, but with very real narrative and an absorbing sense of emotion that makes it a moving listen in more ways than one.
