This is my Submission for the Alev Lenz Recomposing Contest from SA  Recordings. 

I wrote it, recorded, mixed and mastered it on my own. 

I chose the track "Laura" from the album, because to me it was the most beautiful and I had so many ideas for the recomposing challenge.

I played this on a grand piano in my music school and recorded it with my two Neumann KM184 and my JZ BT301. 
To all the soundengineers: I placed the Neumanns as a XY-Stereophony over the part of the piano where the highnotes strings overlap with the lownotes strings. Then I placed the JZ BT301 as a monomic in the middle of the piano pointing to the little hammers that create the piano sound.
To all composers: So all in all: everything I did was 1. take the original 2. take the melody 3. make the melody appear rhythmically random and 4. put harmony under it. 
Of course, there is more to it, but that's how it could feel to some.
