This 30 minute mix features 9 tracks from my album Transit of the Malefic Planet, available on Bandcamp

I produced these tracks at between fall 2021 and spring 2023 to process a period of intense transformative experiences. This spring I realized that I was avoiding listening to them because they brought me back to a raw emotional state. It felt wrong to avoid my own work so I made a point to gather all of the songs together so I could process the feelings. 

As I listened to all the tracks in sequence I thought they sounded consistent with each other and different from my other music, although they were made at vastly different times and in a range of styles. Then I realized that despite being odd lengths the 12 tracks totaled 90 minutes. I noted this as a sign to moved forward and release them without overanalyzing. I drew the image during 2022, it was pretty much the only thing I drew that year. 

(The 30 minute mix features all of the tracks on the album minus the three 10 minute long ambient ones)

After a very trippy Mardi Gras season I was inspired to revisit some music that had been sitting on my hard drive, tracks with parts I really liked but didn't really fit in anywhere or were kinda unfinished and forgotten. After a couple months of mixing and refining I'm very excited to share this work.

Most of this music was made as a means of processing stress at very low moments and wasn't intended for any particular context or release, many of these tracks have never been heard by anyone besides myself. It feels nice to have found a way to give these outcasts a home and family with each other.

Key inspiring theme is the city of New Orleans and my life and community there over the past two years.
