Paperfunk Recordings has always respected — and will continue to respect — the technoid and techno-DnB sound, and we've always strived to contribute as a label to the development of this branch of Drum & Bass.

While techno-DnB emerged back in the early 2000s alongside titanic subgenres like neurofunk and techstep, technoid drum and bass was born under far more intricate and subtle circumstances. The rise of the technoid subgenre is directly tied to a particular group of artists and their unique sonic influence during the years 2007 to 2011.

Its peak — the true triumph of technoid — was in 2008, right at the center of this period. That was the golden age of the subgenre we love, when labels like Offkey, Sinuous, and many others were putting out astonishingly heavy releases with utterly mad and unpredictable sound design.

We’re bringing that tradition back. We’re reviving the raw power and chaos of technoid and techno-DnB — and with great pride, we present to you our new compilation: TECHNOID: GREATEST COMEBACK VOL. 1

This series will feature works by artists who embody the very essence of why these subgenres continue to captivate us. The scent of kerosene, automatic hydraulics, power machines, mechanical undertones, and metal slams in place of drums — this is what awaits you when you press play on TECHNOID: GREATEST COMEBACK VOL. 1.

Big thanks to everyone who came to see my set at Beats For Love 2025 – your energy and support always blow me away. You were, and always will be, the real headliners.
I'm truly grateful to the festival for having me back at such a unique event. Playing under the blast furnace is something special to me, and I prepare for it weeks in advance. I hope you enjoyed the set!

I'm already looking forward to seeing you all again on November 14th in Ostrava for the 15th anniversary of Forbidden Society Recordings. Expect special guests and a massive night at Fabric Ostrava – this one’s going to be big. 15 years deserves a proper celebration!

In her EP Separation, released on Paperfunk Recordings, RiANTHE transposes the very notion of separation into sound: a tight kick-drum thump ticks off the seconds of an expanding rift, a dense bass line pulses like blood retreating from shared memories, and gauzy synth layers slowly shear apart, leaving a transparent corridor of silence where you can hear a new identity crystallising from the shards of former closeness; the music does not merely illustrate detachment—it inhabits it, revealing how an act of separation widens the space to breathe, and how, in that sonic pause between “we” and “I,” it finally becomes possible to hear one’s own echo.
