I am a sucker for synthwave riffs. I find that the tempo is a bit on the slow side. It suits the Alan Parson arp well, but a tempo change for the rest would have been cool. Nice bass.

This track has great elements and ideas but at 3/4 it starts to drag a bit. Maybe it is the drum part ?

This part is my favorite, although the whole thing is so rich in ideas.

I really liked the first part these delay-based intertwining melodies were introduced, but it seems like there could have been something more added to make this section more full/final. maybe adding some even more full synthwave chords or changing them up somehow? anyway, still a fun composition to listen to

The background chords are very nice.  I feel like the entire song would have benefitted from a faster tempo, or get faster as it went to create more of a sense of urgency which would work well with the chords.  It feels kind of laid back.

Yeah, brings back memories from my teenage years. Super pleasant!

I used some factory presets, a couple of TSOM presets (1 Pad) and DR (1 Kick), and modified many presets, especially to create a drum kit. This was a really tough challenge because I still have a lot to learn about synths in general, and this synth, despite being truly beautiful, is very complicated for me.
I have to thank The Sound of Merlin, CrazyIvan, NeverBeeenInARiot, and Taron (also for the tutorials, thanks to which I somehow managed to create some presets) for their patience, moral and technical support. I received really great advice 😊

Synth DX7 - Twilight Horizon, Obscurity Reigns. Nightfall (OSC #193 DS Thorn)

Inspired by First Knight, this track tells the story of Camelot’s rise and fall. At first, the kingdom thrives in peace and prosperity. Then, the arrival of Lancelot brings both hope and glory to Camelot, but also ignites a spark in Guinevere’s heart. Torn between duty and desire, she is consumed by guilt and despair, knowing she has given herself to Lancelot despite her promise to Arthur. As their forbidden love unfolds, tensions grow, and when Arthur discovers the truth, emotions and loyalties are tested. The music reflects both the fierce battles on the battlefield and the silent struggles within the hearts of its greatest heroes, culminating in the inevitable fall of the legendary kingdom.
