March 5th 2022, Oaxaca - Mexico, in the middle of an agave field in no-man's land. A festival organized with incredible love and dedication. People who have not come to celebrate themselves, but have come to celebrate together. People who share a passion for music. People who listen actively and not just mindlessly cheer when the fog machine kicks in. People with wonderful outfits. People who expand your horizons, who give you ideas and thoughts along the way. People I will never forget.
I had the honor to DJ during sunrise, a magical moment when the cold of the night was shaken off and everyone was shining in the warm, red light of the morning sun.

Tummetott - Oaxaca Experience 2022 - Mexico

In an attempt to celebrate one of the most spectacular sunsets one can bear witness to -- the one over the Binnekring, in the Tankwa Karoo, that is -- I dug up 17 tracks and strung them together, shortly after the Ba(c)kstage truck had her maiden voyage across the dust. 

In the concoction of songs you'll find some funk, some house, some indie electronic, some remixes, a few warmer chords to pull at the heart strings and just a dash of Robbie Williams.

My set is a gift to the Burners, who I consider as our spiritual family. It is an opportunity for them to relax, celebrate, and deepen their connection to the world and themselves. I create a unique atmosphere that leads the Burners into a world of peace and enlightenment.
My set is a symbol of the connection between different cultures, music genres, and the universal energy that surrounds us all. It is an invitation to celebrate our differences and explore our commonalities.
I feel a deep spiritual connection to all of you, and I love you all from the bottom of my heart. I look forward to accompanying you on this journey with my music and celebrating our shared spiritual journey!

Afrika Burn 2023 - Spiritual Sunset: A Melodic Techno Journey on Tuesday - @MBOMBO - .WAV

This year, while navigating change and the dissolution of my once concrete understanding of reality, I’ve found myself naturally anchored to the sacred, ritualistic aspects of the morning. Journalling, movement, and meditation have undoubtedly kept me from blowing away amidst the storm. 

It is such a universally acknowledged truth that the morning is a time of virtue, expansion, consciousness, and clarity that we barely bother to question it. 

But what of the night? 

Last week, as I lay on the dusty Karoo, staring out into the infinite expanse of stars, I realised that she has just as much to teach us.

She beckons us to surrender our self-awareness in the depths of her embrace, to become one amongst a crowd, safe under the cloak of her darkness. She invites us to revel and relax in the unknown, to lose ourselves in chaos and confusion, to dance and become entranced. In her infinite space, we are able to abandon all conscious thought and premeditation. She shows us a different path to clarity — if only we would welcome her in.

For the night is also sacred.
