“Monday night was already off to an amazing start - I had just biked out to the deep playa and was able to quickly spot the beautiful Maxa deer glittering in the distance, with the help of a perfect full moon. I was overwhelmed with excitement as I headed towards it.

To me, one of the magical parts of Burning Man is the serendipitous run-ins with people you weren’t expecting to find so far out in the middle of the desert. When I arrived on the art car, I remember feeling blown away by how many friends and familiar faces were both on the car and in the crowd. It was overwhelming to see everyone.

If you were there that night, I hope listening to this set brings you back to that place. And if you are listening for the first time, I hope you can feel the magic we created together. Thank you to my Maxa family for having me - this is such a beautiful memory.

A Night of Sand and Sound – Burning Man 2024

Burning Man is never about predictability—it’s about embracing the chaos and letting the dust write its own story.

Arodes and I were set to play a special back-to-back DJ set high above Black Rock City, floating in a hot air balloon, watching the neon veins of the desert pulse beneath us. But the desert had other plans. The wind howled, the storm rolled in, and our aerial stage became impossible.

On the campground, just in front of The Man, a different kind of stage awaited. Vintage Culture had already successfully gathered a nice crowd, a resilient tribe of dust-covered dancers who refused to let the storm dampen their spirits. Arodes and I eventually stepped up, feeding off their energy, turning uncertainty into rhythm, and letting the music cut through the swirling sand.

It was one of those nights where the connection felt deeper, where the music wasn’t just heard—it was felt. A true Burning Man moment.

This mixtape captures the energy of that night—the spontaneity, the rawness, the beauty of letting go and letting the music lead the way.

It’s been a while since I played DISTRIKT last. After this years experience I’m somewhat kicking myself. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a crowd at Burning Man so wild and fun. The party was electric. Fire! And, it was only Tuesday. ‘Pacing it’ was obviously out of the question for the five thousand or so that joined me. The Robot Heart bus rolled up and plugged in. Hoj tore the place up before me. Our day party extended into night and most of us left with a smile on our faces and an electricity that carried us forward. Beautiful people swung above the crowd in a birdcage (is that safe I kept asking myself in my head)and hips wiggled and swung while the multi-level dance floor bumped and bounced. Basically, best day party at Burning Man ever ever. So, thank you DISTRIKT for giving me an extended set and an amazing party to play. Let’s do it again next year. It’s a date?
