Presenting their second release of 2024, pad records welcomes label boss Rodrigo Lapena back for a new EP. Hailing from Argentina, Rodrigo first emerged in 2018 on the strength of early productions for BCSA and Massive Harmony Records. His groovy progressive sound quickly caught the attention of the genre's diehard fanbase, leading to future projects for Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat Music, and Nick Warren's The Soundgarden, amongst others. Also highly regarded as a DJ, the Buenos Aires resident has been a fixture of Argentina's nightlife for several years, sharing the stage with top talents such as Dmitry Molosh, Kamilo Sanclemente, Mariano Mellino and more. With 2024 getting underway with a project for Collective Music, Rodrigo now returns to his pad imprint with the much anticipated 'Whispers' EP, alongside remixes from Berni Turletti and Alan Cerra. Ruben Karpentayn's RKP continues a strong summer season by welcoming Gorkiz and Benja Molina to the label for their first ever collaborative single. Hailing from Brazil, Gorkiz has achieved measurable success across his twelve year production career, bringing his progressive minded sound to highly regarded record labels such as Meanwhile, Mango Alley and his own Transensations imprint. Genre tastemakers Nick Warren, Guy J and more have been steadfast supporters along the way, making the Sao Paulo resident one of Brazil's top progressive music exports. Meanwhile, hailing from Spain, Benja Molina first emerged in 2009 on the strength of early tracks such as 'Never The End For Me' and 'The World Of Sound', a pair of floor friendly cuts that would establish a clean progressive sound for the Spaniard. Evolving as an artist over the next decade, the Madrid resident would adopt a deeper, more contemporary approach to his production, eventually leading to projects for Massive Harmony and Soundteller. It was 2023 however which proved to be the most impactful year for Benja, with well-received debuts for Droid9, Freegrant Music, Mango Alley and Univack further elevating his profile. Now, combining their extensive forces for the first time, Gorkiz and Benja make their RKP debut with 'Nuclear', alongside remixes from DJ Ruby and Not Demure & Topo Larocca. 

Making his label debut with the first interpretation of 'Nuclear' is DJ Ruby. As one of Malta's premiere progressive house DJs, Ruby has an ever-growing fanbase that stretches far beyond the island's infamous party scene. Beloved for his impeccable taste and exquisite programming skills, Ruby has travelled the world, delighting music lovers at the most prestigious events. Creamfieds, Love Parade, Ozora, Timewarp and Tomorrowland, amongst others, have all played host to Ruby's keen seen of dancefloor dynamics, where he often finds himself opening for the world's elite acts in Carl Cox, Faithless, John Digweed, Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Paul Oakenfold, Sasha, Sven Vath and The Prodigy. Also an accomplished producer with a meticulous resume, leading progressive imprints Deep Down Music, Freegrant Music, Mango Alley and WARPP have all played host to Ruby's infectious club-effective take on the genre, while world class DJs Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren have been steadfast with support along the way. Now, fresh off a remix of Kostya Outta's 'Chasing Highs', DJ Ruby makes his RKP debut with a stylish take on 'Nuclear'. Clocking in at a concise six minutes, Ruby finds success with a more robust, dancefloor minded approach. Pulsating grooves and rolling percussion marry beautifully with flickering arps and balmy atmospheres. Hopeful pads and trance inducing melodies take centrestage across the main break, bringing equal amounts of exhilaration and serenity, while looping rhythms and a wave of drums spark a groove-centric drop and swirling melodic finale in fine fashion.

Modd’s ability to create compelling audio stories is only matched by his tireless work ethic. Not only is he a resident of the Do Not Sit On The Furniture club in Miami, among other residencies, he is also the founder of the Something Special & Amulanga labels. Here, he collaborates with newcomer Metanoya for a three-track Balance debut that oozes class.

There is a deep intensity within ‘Interstellar Travel’ that reminds one of classic prog acts like Chab and DJ Nukem. The chugging drums are hypnotic, thumping away like the sandworm thumper in Dune, while woodblock and xylophone melodies drift in and out like a sea breeze. Appearing from that breeze are majestic strings and a Celtic serenade that brings total satisfaction. It’s bold, beautiful, and extremely euphoric.

The warm bass on ‘It’s Gonna Be Okay’ is a thing of beauty. Even though halfway through, a bright-spirited vocal reminds us about what's good, the bass is the real teacher. It brazenly gallops and swings against the meditative drums and minor keys. Not even
the swirl of colorful pads or the strolling piano can overshadow its never-say-die attitude. It’s a timely reminder that moments pass and we’re all made of healing energy. Music to celebrate new beginnings.

‘Thoughts of Infinity’ starts conceptually big yet stays focused in its delivery. A picked, galloping bassline is pulled in every direction, accentuated by discordant effects. Yet somehow, the entropic movement remains centered, all thanks to a gently picke guitar which acts like a meditative balm. It works like magic: 
a dose of mindfulness for a chaotic mind on the verge of losing control. Another glorious winner to match any moment that needs a helping hand.
