The song has a very festive, ceremonial character, combined with Psymilas lyrics and the soft violin by David Ralak, makes everyone celebrate its music and story together. 
A very sensitive successful cross border fusion where once again, Max Doblhoff aka MDgroove & Sidney Simila aka Psymila, as a European and African producer duo succeeds a modern definition and interpretation of African music traditions.

Mawinguni is a confession of passion. It is an expression of the place that love takes us into. It is a plea for more of that feeling, the floating, the journey into the clouds when a moment of love is shared. He says, “Come take me into your arms, where it feels like floating on clouds. Let us fly into your love, where it feels like resting on clouds.” Here, clouds represent that dreamy state, that feeling of drifting into love’s embrace. 
This cross cultural production is a collaboration between Sidney Simila on vocals and synthesisers, Max Doblhoff on Drums and percussions, featuring the Giriama grooves of the Mijikenda Drums band, with a Dub element fused in. It takes you on a journey, into the very “clouds” that the song is talking about.

An Noor - Lamu, Kenya
Hailing from Lamu, Kenya, the An Noor band is a troupe of more than ten musicians: Percussionists, singers, keyboardist, and flautist. Sometimes they are accompanied by dancers when playing at big weddings.
Their leader, Khalid, who is also the composer and arranger of most of their songs, aims to fuse together the midzikenda sounds of Giriama/Bajuni music with the oriental Taarab rhythms on the tabla, which will mostly be accentuated by bongos or congas. They compose true to the tradition of taarab music though, with the organ establishing the main melodic riff, which will then be sung in verse and chorus form. After which the organ will establish the melody again, with embellishments and decorations, and the whole structure is repeated again. The organ, a key instrument in their work (and Taarab Music in general) forms the main harmonic bedrock for the singers to recite their beautiful poetry over, and they bring together a wide variety of traditional grooves from coastal Kenya, i.e Chakacka, Mwanzele, Kifundo, mbumbumbu, and many others, to create a Taarab texture that is distinctly their own.
Taarab music has its roots back in the days when the East Africa coast was ruled by Sultans from Oman. And since colonial times it has come to be identified with coastal culture in Kenya. The An Noor band aim to provide an organic Taarab ambience at wedding parties, but their music is as beautiful as any other culture’s, and has progressively found its way to more varied audiences in Lamu and across into the mainland.

MAMA JO featuring Idd Aziz was already published in February 2016 as the second single release from Max Doblhoffs debut album AFRICALA on the Viennese label Clubcruisemusic. Since then the song has been played by many DJ`s and has got airplay support on the Austrian Radiostation FM4.
The song is a felicitous mélange of analogue and electronic sounds, coming from live recorded instruments like kalimba, african percussions, bass, drums & guitars are used whereas digital elements are reduced giving the production character & flair. It is very catchy and makes you happy immediately!
Now two giants of house music have done their reinterpretation of MAMA JO as a summer special remix. Stefan Obermaier, a musical all-rounder from Salzburg, has created a fantastic Clubmix with his deep underground style. Basti Grub, a master of the German minimal Tech House scene from Frankfurt, reconstructed MAMA JO to a dulcet late night summer tune. And what a break!

A cross border fusion. Defining, in a sensitive way, how a European producer can enhance a modern definition and interpretation of African music traditions. This debut album combines juicy club sounds with African attitude and the listener gets instantly triggered rhythmic twitching. 
The reinterpretation of his work using authentic rhythms and melodic riffs is the focus of this album. Max Doblhoff`s debut album “Africa La” is a melting pot and shows a variety of acoustic instruments like Kora, Kalimba and the exotic pear-shaped stringed instrument Oud. Also supported by a funky brass ensemble next to pulsating percussions such as Tomtom, Djembe, Tarabuka, Congas and Dun Dun Ba.
On his continental African journey Max Doblhoff caught the vibe and honesty of the African music scene. He also collaborated with African instrumentalists and vocalists such as “Idd Aziz”, “Baboulaye Cissokho“, “Ba Ousmane“, “Kombo Chokwe” and the “Kaya Collective“. These collaborations worked in perfect harmony. 
The driving idea behind the album is Max Doblhoff´s vision of minimalizing the use of electronic production techniques, like loops and synthesizers, and focus on the good old warm sounds of analog instruments. He does not only use his ability to produce music electronically, but also benefits from his skills as a drummer and percussionist. In accordance to his spiritual understanding of African and European cultures and their differences, Max found his own unique way of producing the interaction of electronic and acoustic music.

Doblhoff has taken numerous journeys to the "Motherland", during which his vision for a unique music project has steadily grown. He has transformed his experiences into a musical body of work that includes collaborative partnerships with many local African musicians and promoters. With the collaboration of select musicians, whom all share Dodlhoff's dream, and over the course of seven years, a unique body of work has been created.This body of work depicts the lively music scene of Kenya, including influential artists such as the popular singer Idd Aziz.The album's authenticity and impact, already achieving a cult-like following, is fully understood by well-known Kora player, Baboulaye Cissokho. With the new release of "Africa La", a crowdfunding project has been placed into action, setting the course for future projects and future partnerships, such as live performances and video productions. Just in time to add to the excitement of summer, bring a powerful new atmosphere to your summer events, inside or outside, fuel your clubs and parties with "Africa La"!!

We are happy to welcome to our label three amazing artists who put their hearts and voices together to bring out this fantastic Afro House EP called Niwache. All music in this EP comes from live recordings and was put together from those amazing talents featuring the incredible voice of Alai K, hailing from Kenya.

Since 1993 Max Doblhoff is a well know artist in the Austrian and European music scene, as resident DJ in some of Vienna's most famous clubs and touring with his music mostly in the form of live performance in more than 15 countries worldwide. For many years he has a close relationship with African rhythms and travels to East Africa on a regular basis. His music can be also found on Moblack Records, Afro Rebel Music, Madorasindahouse, Clubcruise Music and many more.

Andreas Weisz is also no newcomer to the scene and like Max also comes from Austria. From the very start Andreas Weisz claimed a very characteristic sound-aesthetic: club-oriented and beat-driven, but also tricky, deep and most of all - soulful. With his productions he already gained a lot of attention. In 2011 Andreas and his brother Sascha aka Megablast founded the recordlabel „Luv Lite Recordings' and also teamed up under their artist alias Weisz2. With their first release „El Vagabundo' they allready gained a lot of success.

Alai K aka Disco Vumbi produces a mix of electronic music and live instruments, featuring Mijikenda rhythms. Chakache and Benga music. The name Disco Vumbi refers to a saying from the 1070's when people would go out to a dance in the streets and came home covered in dust ( vumbi). Alai K has been in the Kenyan music industry since 1995, starting out with the Hip Hop collective Ukoo Flani and afterward pursuing his solo career as a singer and songwriter.

So friends and fam.. watch out for this one, because those 3 have cooked up something really nice for you. Niwache is a fantastic organic Afro House EP, featuring live recordings from percussion to various other live instruments, enhanced by smooth electronic elements.

Niwache is a funky positive and upbeat organic Afro House track with a great groove. When hearing it, you are immediately taken to a virgin beach, dancing and drinking lovely cocktails. This track is all about a positive vibe and getting your groove on.
Pendesa is a more club oriented track also featuring fantastic percussive elements and smart synth progressions. A great Afro dance track for every Afro House set.
