Boojum's newest: Mouthbreather.

Basically, I brought this bass line & vocals to the band less than a week after I came up with it, and they immediately wanted to work it up.  This is the second time we've played it in rehearsal.

"Vision" in rehearsal.  This is about the third time we've played it.  Cardwell and Haysley made up separate guitar parts that sound really cool together.

Vision

This one came out really well.   Sounds kinda retro.

Pain

Alan considered this the peak of our collaboration together, performance and composition-wise.  He referred to it as "orchestral" on occasion.

Intensity

Mouthbreather is a recording one of our late drummer Alan Woodling's last songs, quite literally the fourth from last song he played.  We were recording our rehearsals and this take happened to be nearly perfect.  I took some time boiling out the extra noise and overdubbed my own bass and vocals.     We present it here in tribute to him.  

Mouthbreather (requiem for an ordinary man)

This is the first Boojum ever recorded, sometime in the fall of 2001.  Tony Clark is on guitar.  One of the few times I got Alan to sit still for a click track.  I programmed the song to increase in pace for effect.  

This is his 1964 Ludwig kit.  

Midnightmare

Recorded on December 2, 2013, this was one of three takes of Vision that we had after the untimely passing of our drummer Alan Woodling.  I've re-worked the rehearsal take into something listenable.  The band really liked this piece because it was exemplary of Boojum's philosophy: bring your own passion.  I kept a very simple skeleton of a song going with an ostinato bass line, that the group built a wonderful structure atop.  One of my favorites.

This is the new Boojum; Amy Melton, Adam Cardwell, Adam Haysley, and myself. 

I like this new Boojum.  It is very noisy and passionate.
