1 À l'Espace!

My trip to Polytechnique in Fall 2019 provided me with unique experience of French culture, style of work in French science and views of plateau Saclay (you can see a photo from there on the cover) which seems to be completely deserted after 6pm and on weekends. Now when I am posting this album I think that despite many challenges were presented to my patience, abilities and courage I have managed to solve most of them, which is a great achievement; the greatest, I feel, among all I had in 2019. The mathematical struggle and exploration of science continues. This album, though it displays after a fashion the general state of mind I had in the middle of December 2019, is not only stateful but also possesses some flavour of positive perspective.

Anyway. This is my first album of free improvization: no preparations, no editing, no parallel recording. Just me, piano at École Polytechnique's Grand Hall and the phone as recording device. I decided that in order not to influence the listener with my own textual images it is better to keep the numbers instead of names.

This album describes my journey from very classic to very synthetic sound. I was preparing it for almost 2 years, constantly changing my approaches to recording, mixing and orchestration and after a fashion you might notice the changes. The goal was to test as many instruments as possible and find my own way into music composition and recording. I want to thank Pavel Kazarnovsky and Nikita Dorodny for a great time we spent working on the first two songs and special thanks I would like to express to all my friends in Moscow and Saint-Petersburg who believed that this release will happen:)

Once I have found a video in Worldpressphoto's page telling about one journalist from Iraq. He fled to EU when the war with ISIS emerged, found his job and life there. After the liberation of Mosul he felt that he needs to return and help his people to rebuild the country; he has organised Radio 1 to give people hope after the war. He was asked why he returned (even his relatives told him not to do so because it is dangerous). And he said then, "The hope is here, don't you see it?"
Even with all political scepticism and pessimism, the peoples of the world construct their home in the end, not the old lads sitting in the leather chairs of corporations or political institutions. So we have to create, to build and not to destroy ourselves in endless combat regardless of it being a democratic conflict "police Vs the citizens" or real wars with guns. "Even the victorious war is evil and must be avoided with the wisdom", Otto von Bismarck said. We have all the chances to not fail, because we always have the opportuninities for collaboration and prosperity.
