Lars Huismann makes a quick return to @shdw-obscureshape ’s newly minted Mutual Rytm imprint as he delivers a medley of classic, groove driven techno productions via his ‘Sounds From The Past I’ EP.

With recent releases via labels such as Slam’s iconic Soma, Berlin-based DJ and producer Lars Huismann is quickly growing to become a familiar name of note within today’s modern techno landscape. Having featured as one of the artists on the label’s debut V/A release in February, with the German set to feature as a regular across the imprint in coming months, he unveils fresh shades to his sound palette on his return to Mutual Rytm with a combination of six slick techno cuts across his ‘Sounds From The Past I’ EP.

The powerful, rolling dynamics of ‘Surge’ open proceedings as Huismann quickly sets his stall, while ‘Collison’ veers into slick, looping territories as the energy and tension are kept tight and high. Next, ‘Echo’ ups the pace as tough kicks meet zipping melodies, filtered chords and looping vocal interjections amongst a medley of flurrying percussion licks, before ‘Funk Shed’ takes cues from its title and showcases a classy blend of classic Detroit-influenced sonics guided by sweeping synths. Title cut ‘Sounds From The Past I’ brings with it flashes of serenity and peace, before erupting and spiralling effortlessly into infectious and captivating drum groove.

Today however, it's all about the fast paced smooth grooving bonus digital track 'Jackin', which we premiere here today.

Maximiliano Kulhnek, a.k.a. EME Kulhnek:

Born in Mar del Plata, Buenos Aires, Argentina.. At age 21 began his journey through music knowing the various genres to reach comfort with minimal & techno, with time, experience and desire, began with his first presentations in different club of the city, at 24 years old began with music production through practices with friends and some classes taken with his first teacher Francisco Subiela a.k.a. Glasidum, today at 26 years old is perfecting his sound to such an extent to attract the attention of Richie Hawtin who has recently been using several of his productions in some of his latest presentations, today he finds himself working day by day to improve the quality of his work and with many goals in his life to overcome.

@marco_shuttle, real name Marco Sartorelli, has carved out a distinct sound for himself amongst his peers. After receiving a fashion degree from Central Saint Martins, and spending some years working in the fashion industry, the Italian-born, Berlin-based DJ broke out with The Vox Attitude EP in 2011. In the years since, he’s transitioned into producing and DJing full time, with a considerable amount of releases on reputable techno labels such as Peter Van Hoesen’s Time To Express, Donato Dozzy’s Spazio Disponibile, the Bunker New York and his own record label, Eerie. His productions and DJ set sit somewhere in the sweet spot between controlled, heady techno and euphoric, explosive, vast dancefloor soundscapes. Ahead of his set at the Bunker NY party, Marco Shuttle will join us in the studio for a live set and a chat on his early beginnings, forging a relationship with the Bunker and what he has in store for 2019.
