How do you split the difference between percorming for a live audience versus recording and producing in a studio environment / DAW?

@will_rowan27 interesting question ! most of the times i just write what i want, which can be a bit tricky to work into a live context. i layer a ton and use a lot of synths. some songs, like cherry stems, i wrote solely for the purpose of being performed live. so yeah it’s a bit of a trade off and i’m trying to figure that out still haha
