Funky feels from Antwerp’s Maxi Meraki, targeting the Balearic hot spots he’s become accustomed to with deep, focused house composing suave vocals and pianos striding about the place with a splash of salsa to them. While there’s plenty of groove as standard from the Roger Sanchez/Mark Knight-supported spinner - springy bass, a warm blast of synths on a breakdown of calming motivation - Meraki builds an aura and gives the track time and space to explore itself, as per the knowledge-of-self lyrics.

Resident wayfarers Sparrow & Barbossa return to MoBlack Records, along with one of the label's reigning songstresses, Nomvula and Goya-nominated griot Cherif Badua on strings. Proponents of immersive sonic voyages, the musical storytellers propel even deeper with Nomvula's lyrical prowess and the Kora maestro's permeating strums at the crux. A gift that keeps on giving, 'Amore Profondo' is complemented with three distinctive reinterpretations by a cast of talented remixers.
Starting off, Mpumalanga's Caiiro revels in the ubiquity of 'Amore Profondo' at first beat, drifting its lush vocals into mesmeric rhythms and rapturous melodies. Mozambican artists Breeze and the Sun and Neil Amarey join in to deliver a compelling rendition that marries riveting instrumentals, spirited Afro grooves and transcendent plangencies. Milan's Ivory helms the dark side of 'Amore Profondo,' undulating robust basslines through sharp syncopations, incisive timbre and esoteric nuances - voltaic but 'amore' nonetheless.
Rounding out the EP, the original mix gleams with luminous harmonic stratas. A mélange of sensual Latin instruments, vigorous drum patterns and tender melodies, 'Amore Profondo' is a lasting dancefloor ballad that echoes eternal solace through faith, requited devotion through grace, and redemption through soul-driven motion.

Juan Yarin is next up on the Rumors with his Lovefool EP, which comes with a remix from label head Guy Gerber, completing a standout package.

Juan Yarin is a core part of the Rumors family and a regular at the label's Ibiza party. He has released his emotive brand of deep house here before, such as with last year's Venice Beach EP, and impresses once more this time out.

Lovefool opens up with spine-tingling piano chords draped over soft, deep house drums. A tender vocal completes the most majestic groove. Lovefool (Guy Gerber Remix) is a stylish tweak with the piano chords left in place and the drums given a little extra bite. The whole thing sinks you into a reverie and makes for truly beautiful listening. Paradiso then picks up the pace with a more upright house sound this time with low-slung bass and icy hi hats adding detail next to the elegant synth craft. Lina closes down with some heady, hypotonic house that is filled with late-night atmosphere and swirling cosmic keys.

"I'm proud to announce my new EP "LOVEFOOL" says Juan. Before its release date "LOVEFOOL" has already been played by known artists such as KEINEMUSIK at BURNING MAN 2022, and even received a special remix version by GUY GERBER to be released along with the EP. The release will be promoted on a live European tour coming up soon."

'Fiona Kraft offers up her most sincere sounds to date with the Deeper Feelings EP on connected featuring remixes from MAGA and Manoo.

Fiona Kraft has spent much time condensing the different elements and ideas in her head together in the perfect sound. She says this new EP is the best representation yet of who she is and what she feels. It comes after years of developing her distinctive sounds and playing everywhere from Hi Ibiza to Watergate in Berlin, mixing up rhythmic and progressive sounds with euphoric breaks.

The gorgeous 'Deeper Feelings' has dancing Afro drums overlaid with nimble piano chords. The pressure builds and the groove is in constant evolution as the jazzy keys hypnotize and the spiritual pads bring the warmth. It is a majestic and epic track that oozes future soul.

Legendary Lyon producer Manoo adds two remixes. The first is a smooth and quietly intense rework with aching vocals swirling out of the mix to take you higher. The second is a deeper dub with a darker heart as the kesy speak to a broken heart.

Last of all, Nice-born Scenarios and Flying Circus associate MAGA brings his melodic, organic and minimalistic patterns to a sublime remix. It's seven steamy minutes of piano-laced deep house joy with rolling drums that are peppered with percussion and hypnotic wooden hits.

This is a deeply moving package of afro / organic house music from connected and Fiona Kraft.'

Born at the start of the 90’s in Belgium Maxi Meraki brings bright tones in his productions and sets, just like he’s known for always being smiling. Each performance described as a scenario where he puts a part of himself into his musical work with soul, creativity and love. 

Driven by a desire to succeed and radiate emotions in his music, he started releasing his own sounds in 2019 and released on labels such as Abracadabra, Monaberry, Get Physical, Ultra Records and Artbat’s UPPERGROUND. 

This with several high notes in charts and receiving the support from e.g. Jamie Jones, Keinemusik, Rüfüs Du Sol, Adriatique, Black Coffee, Solomun, &ME and Pete Tong on BBC1.
