The rāga saga is a series that acts as a cultural collectiva of our favourite artists from all over, Each raga is an array of melodic structures with musical motifs, considered in the Indian tradition to have the ability to "colour the mind" and affect the emotions of the audience and this special journey (raga) On the 223rd edition we welcome @maximilian-wehner

We look forward to the musical journey of Maximilian Wehner alias WAYHNA, who has just moved to Berlin.

Collecting the finest sounds for over 10 years. Having lived through virtually all electronic genres, his sets today are characterised by organic, but also very twisted tones. It used to be mainly in the 100 bpm range, but has now settled between 100-120 - or let's call it grooved!

His sets are always a spontaneous development, created by the people on site and thus best describe the moment as he perceives it.
This is how this mix was created around the New Year, which he was allowed to share with long-time friends.

Maybe one or the other track will bring back some summer memories and let you hike through the mellow March in a more relaxed way.

To discover a lil more we had a quick chit chat about his world ..

✘ So tell me what was your first track you fell in love with during your childhood?
✘ The first one I remember is 'Fools Garden - Lemon Tree', was actually playing in hospital when I got out in the world (said my parents) :D
✘ ...and the last track you digged?
✘ I really fell in love with 'Trippin Jaguar & Onaia - Noku Mana' over the past months.. always listening again in certain moods.
✘ ...and maybe could you tell us how did you get into the music cooking pot ?
✘ After listening to a lot of electronic Dj&Live Sets back in school I wanted to know what I need to make my own journeys with the tracks I love.. in the beginning just for myself and longer rides.. so I found out about music cooking, bought my first controller and taught it myself. This was long before I could experience clubby nightlife. Many things changed in the last 10 years, but my love for creating&listening to journeys stayed the same.

23.10.23 .. somewhere in Berlin, late at night

A room filled with vibing humans, some instruments, a good soundsystem and a Dj-booth. I started to dig a bit, actually wanting to quit soon to enjoy some good talks.. but something changed quickly. Humans started to connect even more, dancing intensely, grabbing the drums and other instruments.. many smiles, hugs, kisses&cuddles. I quickly got one with the energy in the room and we lost track of time.. luckily managed somehow to record the last 3 hours of maybe 8h of pure joy - so thankful for every second <3

Playing an improvised mix on this big stage with equipment I barely use was definitely a challenge, but turned out to become such a fun ride, even with some small imperfections it feels right to share it.. 
Having all my closest beings around dancing into the last festival day of the summer with me together on the stage we helped creating over the week was an experience I will never forget. Thank you everyone who was there enjoying the moment together and the Mystik-Ground crew for the trust. <3  

PS: I lost 20min because some known live act didn’t just take an extra welt, but also extra time for their soundcheck :D

Oh what a journey happend here over the last week..? I always dreamt of a place in Festivals where slow music is appreciated next to all the ecstatic nightstages where Hi-Hats hunt you all night long.. Being trusted by the Skalar-Team to co-create this Downtempo-Place at a Festival where so many friends and creative beings are involved is already special, so co-creating the momets in the early morning hours there on saturday with loved beings made the past days unforgettable for me. It’s a pleasure to share this flowy trip from nightride into sunrise here for the memories. ...Als nun der Swinegel zu Hause ankam, sprach er zu seiner Frau: "Frau, zieh dich schnell an, du mußt mit mir aufs Feld hinaus." - "Was gibt es denn?" sagte seine Frau. "Ich habe mit dem Hasen gewettet um einen goldenen Louisdor und eine Buddel Branntwein; ich will mit ihm um die Wette laufen, und du sollst mit dabei sein." - "O mein Gott, Mann," fing nun dem Swinegel seine Frau an zu jammern, "bist du nicht recht gescheit? Hast du denn ganz den Verstand verloren? Wie kannst du mit dem Hasen um die Wette laufen wollen?" - "Halt's Maul, Weib," sagte der Swinegel, "das ist meine Sache. Misch dich nicht in Männergeschäfte! Marsch, zieh dich an und komm mit!" Was sollte Swinegels Frau machen? Sie mußte wohl folgen, sie mochte nun wollen oder nicht.Wie sie nun miteinander unterwegs waren, sprach der Swinegel zu seiner Frau: "Nun paß auf, was ich dir sagen will. Siehst du, auf dem langen Acker dort wollen wir unseren Wettlauf machen. Der Hase läuft nämlich in der einen Furche und ich in der andern, und von oben fangen wir an zu laufen. Nun hast du weiter nichts zu tun, als dich hier unten in die Furche zu stellen, und wenn der Hase auf der andern Seite ankommt, so rufst du ihm entgegen: 'Ich bin schon hier'."
Damit waren sie beim Acker angelangt. Der Swinegel wies seiner Frau den Platz an und ging nun den Acker hinauf. Als er oben ankam, war der Hase schon da. "Kann es losgehen?" sagte der Hase. "Jawohl," sagte der Swinegel. "Dann also los!" Und damit stellte sich jeder in seine Furche. Der Hase zählte: "Eins, zwei, drei!" und los ging es wie ein Sturmwind den Acker hinunter. Der Swinegel aber lief nur ungefähr drei Schritte, dann duckte er sich in die Furche und blieb ruhig sitzen.
Als nun der Hase in vollem Lauf unten am Acker ankam, rief ihm dem Swinegel seine Frau entgegen: "Ich bin schon hier!" Der Hase stutzte und verwunderte sich nicht wenig: er meinte nicht anders, als wäre es der Swinegel selbst, der ihm zurief, denn bekanntlich sieht dem Swinegel seine Frau just so aus wie ihr Mann. Der Hase aber meinte: "Das geht nicht mit rechten Dingen zu." Er rief: "Nochmal gelaufen, wieder rum!" Und fort ging er wieder wie ein Sturmwind, daß ihm die Ohren um den Kopf flogen. Dem Swinegel seine Frau aber blieb ruhig auf ihrem Platz stehen. Als nun der Hase oben ankam, rief ihm der Swinegel entgegen: "Ich bin schon hier!" Der Hase aber, ganz außer sich vor Ärger, schrie: "Noch einmal gelaufen, wieder rum!" - "Mir macht das nichts," antwortete der Swinegel, "meinetwegen, sooft du Lust hast." So lief der Hase noch dreiundsiebzigmal, und der Swinegel hielt es immer mit ihm aus. Jedesmal, wenn der Hase unten oder oben ankam, sagte der Swinegel oder seine Frau: "Ich bin schon hier."
Beim vierundsiebzigsten Male aber kam der Hase nicht mehr bis ans Ende. Mitten auf dem Acker stürzte er zur Erde, das Blut schoß ihm aus dem Halse, und er blieb tot auf dem Platze. Der Swinegel aber nahm seinen gewonnenen Louisdor und die Buddel Branntwein, rief seine Frau aus der Furche ab, und beide gingen vergnügt miteinander nach Hause: und wenn sie nicht gestorben sind, leben sie heute noch...

I haven’t stopped smiling since my set on Sunday and I’m still full of joy and memories. Playing my very first live set to a packed Seebühne floor at Fusion was truly a dream come true 🥹
