Slowly Rolling Camera, teams up pianist-composer Dave Stapleton, producer Deri Roberts, vocalist-lyricist Dionne Bennett and drummer Elliot Bennett and is positive proof that some of the most interesting work often arises from a meeting of many minds. The result is music that has distinct echoes of the ‘invisible soundtracks’ of UK progressives Cinematic Orchestra and 4Hero combining double bass led grooves, with shifting rhythms & polychrome textures and arresting harmonies all skilfully performance by some of the best jazz musicians in the business. Slowly Rolling Camera are purveyors of mysterious audio vignettes that are moulded by a structural sophistication that is plugged straight into the vibrant emotional current of pop culture.

In honor of Valentine’s Day and in anticipation of their forthcoming album Hands, Super Human Happiness has released a live mix tape featuring covers of love songs.

“The tunes are all songs from our youth in the 80s and might seem un-hip, but we aren’t being ironic. These songs first offered us glimpses into adult intimacy when we were just little dudes,” said band leader Stuart Bogie.

The band includes members who have been involved with acts ranging from Iron & Wine and Martha Wainwright to TV on the Radio and Antibalas, so it’s natural that the band would have such respect for the work of other musicians.

“We love the songs and the artists very much, and debated which songs to choose from their illustrious catalogs of emotionally charged sonic waterbeds,” said Bogie.

In preparation for long overdue Wah Wah Collective album check out the new album teaser ‘Rock The Wah Wah (Eclectic Soul)’.  A cosmic rare groove flavor that emphasizes the eclectic nature of the Wah Wah collective. 

The forthcoming Wah album features over fourteen tracks from various artists we have worked with over the years caressed in Nusoul, Urban dance, hip hop beats and Latin grooves all coming together to create an eclectic treatment. Many of our original vinyl releases distributed by UK labels Kudos Records and Goya music have finally been re-mastered for the CD album. The album is scheduled to drop in late 2013 but before then feelers will be sent out to all you funky cats… stay tuned.
 
The Wah Wah Collective is right now what you could call a Trans-Atlantic group with beats from London & France and with vocals and production also stemming from Italy and the US. The Wah released vinyl only EP's and Singles in the mid-00's gaining some notoriety for their mixture of neo-soul with alternative dance. Several titles from the Wah Wah Collective roster were supported with UK Regional Radio airplay on shows such as Rosie Kendrick (Late Lounge) (Jazz/Smooth 102.2 FM (UK)), Patrick Forge (The Cosmic Jam – Kiss 100 FM (London)) and also on US radio with Rafe Gomez, The Groove Boutique Jazz show on KJZY FM (New York).
