I'm super excited to finally be bringing you this remix.. I've been working on this one ever since I first heard "Me & You" by Alok ft. Iro about a month or two ago, which provides the acoustic guitar riff and rhythm track in the background. At first listen I knew the chord progression fit perfectly to Ellie Goulding's beautiful vocal on "Outside", and the work began from there. 

Calvin Harris is one of my favorite acts in the EDM world. He's a superstar. I had the pleasure of seeing him perform at his resident OMNIA, but I hope I can catch a bigger set on the festival circuit one day. I thank him for releasing the acapella pack for the hits from his Motion album back in 2015, which made this remix possible.

I think Ellie Goulding was born to sing on EDM tracks, from her work with Calvin Harris and Skrillex to the Mat Zo remix of "Burn" and the legendary "Lights" remix from Bassnectar. She's perfect every time.

Alok is a phenomenal deep house/tech house artist with a Brazilian flair, and I love his sound. I try to replicate those sort of wonky/wobbly sounding bass notes in my own style, and he's a big inspiration. Do yourself a favor and listen to his cover of "BYOB" by System of A Down with Sevenn if you haven't already...

Iro is a beautiful guitar player and singer, reminds me of Broken Back, a sultrier Vance Joy, or Dallas Green of City & Colour. I always love when artists in more of the acoustic/tropical scene are unafraid of collaborating with grittier EDM artists like Alok. Always a great outcome.

I've found trap music to be making a big resurgence this past year, ever since the genre really burst onto the scene in 2012-2014 - hence "renaissance", or rebirth. So many artists are putting out incredible stuff recently.
