This is a compilation of the complication that I’ve been experiencing on this yearly basis,

I’m a year free of the unhealthy and being a slave to conscious, 
I read myself bedtime stories, and checked under my bed for all the monsters,  
The skeletons inside my closet, and the liquor pouring out my faucet, 
Had me running circles in my head that I nearly passed out from exhaustion, 

I’ve had my fair share of doubters, 
But they were outnumbered by all my supporters, 
I am the captain of my ship, you’ll never see me take any orders, 
The waters were rocky, 
The flow is wavy, 
I could sit here and tell you that rap saved me, 
But hopefully you do instead, let’s see how many times y’all can replay me, 

I thought my time came, 
But she was just ridding me to perfection, 
I’m writing like a professional but never intend this to be my profession, 

I’ve learned a couple lessons, 
From constantly stressing, 
And messing up many god damn times,
You think I belonged in state correction,

My evolution and my progression is evident,
