DISCLAIMER: This track is a remix and was not recorded at Sauce n' Salad Studio. The multitracks are from the reaMIXed July 2022 contest, and (I believe) from Telefunken Live from the Lab.

This track was mixed exclusively with stock REAPER plugins. The plugins used the most were the RBJ 1073 and Highpass/Lowpass Filters, as well as the Fairly Childish (Fairchild emulation) and the 1175 (1176 emulation), and the JS Saturation plugin. Being honest, I'm really pleasantly surprised by the quality of the mix I was able to get using just these stock plugins.

Another disclaimer, this isn't the exact track I submitted to the July reaMIXed contest. This is a revision where I turned down the kick and sub of the bass guitar to more appropriate levels. I'm still learning my monitoring system and how things are supposed to sound with it... so even though I'm not fully pleased with the exact track which I submitted to reaMIXed, it was still an awesome learning moment. In any case I do like a full and punchy kick and bass.

This track was mastered to -14 LUFS at -1 True Peak as per reaMIXed requirements.

A simple-ish sticky note to remind myself that you can't just barrel through overwhelm- breaking down is ok and avoiding it just makes it worse. Like trying to hold in a volcano. Sometimes little Sara needs a reminder that she's been on the treadmill too long and its time to get off. Thank goodness for Abby Gundersen's gorgeous strings.​
