Chek Selectah comes from from Vigo, a town in Spain. Chek selectah is a Dj, selector and vinyl collector. He is part of the Galician collective “ Soundkilla Crew“. With more than 10 years in the music scene, in which he played for the best Galician clubs in part of the Spanish and Portuguese territory, sharing stage with some of the best artists from the European reggae scene and world level, and festivals like Rototom (Benicassim), GranCan Zion (Canary Island), World to Reggae (Oporto), ReggaeBoa (Bierzo) or Galician festivals as Minho Reggae, Foundation reggae, Brincadeira, among many others.
Sessions of reggae roots, foundation, early digital, digital reggae, dub, steppa and jungle with the best dubplates, is what you can expecte in his sessions. At present he is playing alongside the MC Xenderal in the direct ones and he is a promoter in the Soundsystem Nights sessions in Vigo and Drum&Party Sessions.

Muti Music is pleased to announce the release of the 4th installment of remix EPs from the Sizzla album Born A King, which we released in May of this year. The album produced by Mista Savona has received critical acclaim and charted in the top 20 of iTunes Reggae, the original ‘Champion Sound’ tune included on this EP has also been living in the Beatport Reggae Top 10 for the past 4 months.
The original tune features Sizzla at his finest along with one of the last vocals recorded by Errol Dunkley and Mista Savona provides his original instrumentals as well as versions featuring Turbulence. This package comes stacked with classic roots reworks on the original Mista Savona ‘Soundclash Riddim' by Burro Banton, Iyashanti and Johnny Clarke featuring Determine.
The Electronic remix lineup is one of the strongest so far, stacked with a variety of genres that includes Drum & Bass and Junglist styled beats from Dub Phizix, Skeptical and Dov1, a relentlessly funky Glitch Hop version by Spoonbill that is bound to destroy a few dancefloors as well as turn more than a few heads. Roommate provides a well needed deep Dubstep version, and Hypha and LeGinge provide melodic and Glitchy versions with a hint of Future-bass and R&B influences.

To give some background on this project, whilst on tour in Australia we met Mista Savona, a Melbourne based producer who had just returned from Jamaica with a bag of new riddims and an almost-completed album with legendary reggae artist Sizzla. We listened to the tunes and loved the fresh new sounds and very positive feel of the album, with its uplifting messages and inspired vocal performances. Muti Music has been releasing a series of Remix EP's based around the album's May 2014 release, featuring producers at the leading edge of dance music globally. These have been receiving rave reviews across the Blogosphere, play on BBC, XFM, Sirius and numerous other internet and FM stations, as well as reviews in high profile magazines like DJMAG.

From the remote township of Te Mata, in the rugged hills of New Zealand, comes a new imprint following in the tradition of mid-80s rub-a-dub from an often overlooked corner of dancehall culture.

The brainchild of local farmer and radio personality Red Robin – alongside the deadly production duo Naram and Art – the first 12” features two heavy-like-lead riddims with discomix cuts from four unsung heroes of the 80s with conscious, street-level lyrics.

Side A finds legendary singer Winston ‘Midnight Riders’ Powell rise again on a synth-infused piece of classic rub-a-dub. Despite being his first release in decades, he delivers a cutting edge vocal from his Kingston 9 borough about life Outta Road in the Jamaican capital. He then crosses live to special agent Speng Bond for a deejay report on the current state of Britain in Dread Outta Road.

With a more uptempo riddim, the flipside sees Toronto-based 80s star Steve Knight fire some timely shots at corrupt politicians with Dem a Fraud before Los Angeles-based MC Tippa Lee comes correct with a self-affirming deejay cut on Salute the Veteran.

Both sides are served with one-away dub mixes from Naram and added textural touches from disrupt. Mastered and cut by Pole / Scape Mastering for extra heavy low end. Strictly limited pressings.
