Soft, fluid, slow. A melodious flow of music, filled with the sweet melancholy of ever-changing time and inevitable loneliness, telling stories of passing life. This is Doina's energy. Doina is one of Moldavia’s musical folklore dramaturgies, which has inspired our friend and artist @bliznochi to compose the songs for our today’s release „Nisip“.
The EP may be seen as a dedication to what we call our home, our home lands. The environment we have perceived in our childhood. The nature, the sounds and the emotions that are deeply rooted in our minds and hearts, carried to present times. For Bliz Nochi this home is the Nistru river in Moldavia, of which shores he has grown up, capturing the tradition of local culture.
Bliz Nochi combined both works „Nisip De Pe Malul Nistrului" (meaning „the sand of the shores of the river Nistru“) and „Sand“ into the EP’s title "Nisip" – sand. Its memories drive Bliz Nochi’s search for new interpretations of the traditional Moldavian musical song – Doina – as a theme of connection with the land where he grew up, with the flow of the river, the passage of time and the eternal song of life.
Accompanied by Amalia Sadreev, clarinetist from Kazan, who skilfully transforms the feeling of Doina through his instrument. The clarinet sings this Doina song in „Nisip De Pe Malul Nistrului" together with a male voice, echoing and complementing each other. 
The polyrhythmic melody of „Sand“ is performed with an acoustic guitar. Meant to induce our subconsciousness, this melody might feels familiar to some, being once sung by a male or female voice. It shall connect us with the mood of that ever-flowing song of life.

The EP comes with 4 Remixes. Each of them combining the original idea of the songs with the unique style of the artists:

Portuguese duo Ohxalá (@ohxala) casts their unmistakable groove on „Nisip De Pe Malul Nistrului“ by drawing a baseline, that simply invites you to jump up and dance.

Hungarian artist BéTé (@destroydisco) is known for his bright and colourful edits. He adds the song a typical pinch of playfulness and emphasises its trippy character.

C.love (@cloveontherocks-1) sprinkles the flair of her habitat, the Californian Joshua Tree desert. She kinda lets the sun dry out „Sand“ and sieves it’s grains. The result is a rough and psychedelic texture, spiced up with a fine dash of acid.

Istanbul based artist Erhan Yilmaz (@erhanyilmazedits) stirs in an oriental flavour to his interpretation and let’s the Nistru river flow a little faster. He pours in a mysterious and bouncy wave that is all set for its vigorous slosh on the dance floor.

Bliz Nochi - Sand

„Nanu?“ – this little interjection in the German language expresses wonder, surprise and a curiosity for what has just been presented to you. It playfully resembles the title of our release „nanou“, produced by Zurich based trio @ali_dada, whose dreamy and unwinding music has indeed aroused our curiosity, surprised us, made us wonder and keen to dive deeper into their world of soothing soundscapes.

This EP may be seen as a soundtrack for moments in which you feel free from capitalist tension. Catching up on Jenny Odell‘s advice in „How to do nothing - Resisting the Attention Economy“, the mood of the songs may be a dedication to the idea of #NOMO – „the necessity of missing out“. An opposition to the overstimulation of our everyday life: „This idea of doing nothing is trying to give permission to have some emptiness.” We affirmatively embrace this idea as an invitation to pause, recline and laze while listening to those 4 calming songs. It‘s the assent to an idle that has facilitated the realization of this EP for ali dada. Obligation-free time opened up spaces for ideas and sketches to flourish. „zwueschetag“, as a „day in between“ originated in the beginning of the pandemic and describes a tool for ali dada to handle the uncertainties of a life without stability. „345“ is the street number of an off-space (www.345off.space), where the trio has recorded and produced their music, and which provides a vibe that allows them to engage optimistically in these fickle times of live.
In ali dada‘s productions you‘ll ever find a playful combination of elements from various, rather distant genres. References to experimental ambient vibes meet the love for jazzy, psychedelic guitars and warm, mellow hip-hop beats. In extended jam sessions they reflect on how the sounds feel to them and how they actually want the listener to feel. And indeed you seem guided – to slow down, linger and listen carefully. As the 3 musicians are sensible for imperfections and glitches you often can hear tiny, subtle elements, such as snippets or field recordings in the background. It‘s these little acoustic surprises that expand the space for dreaming and shape a cosmos in which you want to close your eyes and drift away in airy realms or sparkling beach water.

The Beit Oren-based virtuoso percussionist & electronic producer, Nadav Dagon is serving us two original delights; The EP theme track 'Human Desire', and 'Enkarewa', which are accompanied by three splendid remixes. Nadav Dagon's originals manage to take the listeners into a deep and meaningful voyage, where exquisite organic sounds & percussive riffs meet elegant electronic melodies, seasoned with a pinch of acid and metallic vocal fragments. Tribalism and futurism transmitted into an extremely pleasant colourful trip full of joyful ancient Maasai traditions, and avant-garde electronic sounds. On remix duty, we're excited to welcome the gifted French producer Max Tenrom, and Ahau from Chile, on their debut on Circle Of Dreams, and we're extremely pleased as well to have back the Tel Aviv-based producer Guy Maayan. First we have Max Tenrom, who masterfully crafted a deep, romantic, elegant and melancholic yet optimistic remix for 'Human Desire'. Following up next we have Ahau with his tribal interpretation of the EP theme track, with a strong influence with South America's abundant jungles. Last but not least we have Guy Maayan's remix for 'Enkarewa' which exhibits an uplifting, pounding and energetic approach, perfectly suited for the peak time hours. ENJOY!

An interest in ancestral Latin American cosmology has always run right through the music of Ecuadorian music producer Nicola Cruz. His creative process involves an attentive, careful search for the living roots and rituals that are part of South American identity—its Andean and African origins in particular—valuing its rhythms, its oral traditions, its instruments and the energy they transmit. His first record, Prender el Alma (2015) explored the development of the consciousness and spirituality, and how they connect with music. In Siku, his most recent production, Cruz continues this exploration, expanding his vision towards new stories and other cultures as sources of inspiration. A crucial aspect on this journey is his collaboration with other artists from around the world.

The siku is a wind instrument of Andean origin, highly symbolic in ancestral rituals, made up of two separate, complementary parts, the arca and the ira. It is a representation of duality, an essential element of the indigenous world view, associated with involvement and complementarity, far from the binary thinking typical of western societies. That duality is reflected on this record in the coming together of sounds, whether electronic or organic, past or present, local or global. On Siku, Nicola Cruz combines instruments with symbolic, spiritual connotations, such as the sitar, the siku, and the balafon with hints of electronica. Studies of the samba, cumbia and rhythms of African, Andean and Hindu origin are combined with Cruz’s characteristically unpredictable, mystical style.

The nature of the arts is one of those ancient enigmas which keeps thoughtful minds constantly philosophizing on its power. The mystery of art is deepened by the fact that inspiration can burst at anytime; any sound or fleeting glance can trigger a masterpiece. How can that be explained? We don’t know, and maybe we never will, but what matters to us is tending to that inspiration, and the conditions in which it thrives. This is the story of MA, the latest EP by Batu Ozer, which we are happy to bring to our listeners today. Old recordings of saz or string instruments resembling long-necked lutes, triggered the creative genius of the artist, and five new aural gems were the result.
The title of the album means “water” in ancient Turkish language. Its sonorities and motives evoke the elegance and preciousness of the old Anatolian history. Sounds of spilling water remind us of the fountains found in the courtyards and gardens of gilded palaces. Gentle choirs blend with lutes and finger percussion, effectively transporting us to the public intimacy of the ‘Arfana’: the public musical gatherings of the old times. All of the artist’s productions reflect this ancient beauty, which skillfully revisits and elaborates with electronic effects, resulting in a timeless weave of antiquity and modernity.
