Starting off as a bedroom collector for almost a decade, Millie McKee is an up-and-coming digger and music selector who is impressing global crowds with her knowledge and understanding of many genres. Known from her show on Noods Radio or her mix for My Analog Journal, she now plays not only at the legendary Love Inn in Bristol, but is also holding down regular shows at London & Bristol’s most progressive underground venues. We love Millie’s enchanting presence and her philosophy towards DJing which “resides in a deep, quasi-spiritual soulfulness…” 

In our conversation, Millie shares about how she first went into record stores not for the music but the album artwork and how this led her to buy her first ever record which she carries with her to every gig to this day.

On today’s edition of the show, Darone invites Daniel Edenburg, aka, Brother Dan. @brotherdan brings nearly two decades of experience to the dancefloor. Honing his ability on moody hometown crowds in Miami has helped to capture the attention of listeners everywhere he goes. Always bringing intention to the story told through music. Aside from touring Mexico and Europe extensively, a global connection has formed through his record label and online shop Terrestrial Funk. @terrestrialfunk

The label’s catalog kicked off with Miami’s own boogie legend, Lang Cook, and continues to welcome titans – from Ghana’s Pat Thomas & Ebo Taylor to UK electronic pioneer DMX Krew. Support for the label has seen the likes of Ricardo Villalobos and Motor City Drum Ensemble rinsing the releases to thousands. Terrestrial Funk's online shop has served as a supplier for DJs and collectors alike, diving into unknown dance music. 

In 2018, Brother Dan was named 'DJ of the Year' by the Miami New Times, supporting a variety of shows like the Sun Ra Arkestra and Marcellus Pittman. Five years later, the influence on his hometown has only grown, having held multiple residencies at Miami's most significant venues, as well as organizing The Miami Record Fair monthly. Earlier this year, Palms Trax commissioned Brother Dan for a mixtape that saw a summer release of all Miami music on cassette. The coming years hold dozens of signed releases on Terrestrial Funk and the long-awaited opening of the brick-and-mortar record shop, cafe, and venue. 

From his walk of life to his ever-growing record collection, Brother Dan's devotion to music is palpable, and continues to offer an unforgettable experience to listeners around the world.
