I made this ages ago wanting to test my own musical/mixing ability. It's been left alone long enough, so why not upload it. 

The second half of the song is missing its main motif, so it will sound pretty bland and uninteresting. That part was meant to be fixed, but I just didn't have the time or interest to fix it. Certain parts don't have much of a punch as I should have made it. This was made many months ago, and I hadn't had a clue how to use the equalizer. The drumline isn't as exuberant and excessive as the actual song, so that's something I could have improved on as well. All in all, it was a good attempt for me back in the day. I might even say I've surprised MYSELF from what I can hear.

Ah, unintentional touhou. How unintentionally touhou. This unintentionally reminds me of a particular song that ends with touhou and starts with unintentional. 
Making this song was absurdly fun. It was the first time I’ve really got to make another version of someone else’s song, and I enjoyed what I could do with it. It’s not a huge song, and especially not a crazy song in any way shape or form. It was just a small idea that ended with me putting it on the album. And yes, it doesn’t sound like a touhou song at all. I’m not a mad man, and especially not ZUN in the slightest :) 
All I can really hope is that you like it as much as I liked making it!

I really like the soundtrack to La-Mulana, and I consider the really synthy instrumentation to be a very very nice thing to listen to. I got bored one day and decided to do the most experimental thing I could imagine. I made a midi of DarnRamen and opened it up in Microsoft DirectMusicProducer, picked the soundfont type file of the classic La-Mulana OST and started changing all the instruments to really make it match something you'd hear on the MSX. I also added custom pitch bending (regrettably I usually don't manually pitch bend, and instead let FL Studio do it all for me :3)
