This two-hour set was recorded at Garden Temple, in Puna, on the Big Island of Hawaii!

If you are unfamiliar with ecstatic dance, it's not so much a concert as it is a gathering of folks who just want to get down and shake it all out. There's no shoes, no talking, no booze, just MOVEMENT!
Playing a lot of ecstatic dance events and other intentional movement gatherings has been inspiring me to step out of my producer box, and play more tracks by other artists when it feels appropriate. I see it as a great opportunity to share some of my influences with a community that otherwise doesn't hear a lot of the music which I personally grew up with! 

This set journeys into a variety of spaces, and it got particularly heavy, heady, and fast-paced at times. The lovely Garden Temple community warned me that they have a lot of energy and like it dirty, so I figured I would playfully test their stamina a little bit. Seems appropriate for dancing with a bunch of Big Island Punatics on the side of an active volcano. ;)

Tonight, January 20, 2018, I will be playing a set at Dance Church Maui, which will be very very different from this one! Much less hectic and more focused on groove and general yumminess. It's important to have some variety in life, I feel!

One of the Earliest Basher Toe Tunes. What  Started out as a Pure Jam Session for me and my Electric Guitar, Manifested into a Journey That Gave Expression to my Emotional and Musical Roots.  
Sharav is a term in Hebrew to describe Heat Wave that usually occurs during the change of seasons in the Middle East.
