Stepping into the mix this time around is amita, a Japanese-American DJ based out of NYC. Her work usually starts at 140 before rapidly stepping on the gas toward 160 and beyond, with an emphasis on Japanese and international juke. The result is tremendous. 

Per AMITA: "In curating this mix, I reflected upon the concept of touch starvation and short term proximity. Last year, I made it my mission to better understand how loneliness manifests in my life, and how it can impact my self worth and day to day life. As I percolated on these questions, I also found myself going to club settings more often. There was something about moving and pulsing in crowds, dancing and shifting amongst each other that gave me a sense of security. Flashes of lights allowing us to only see specific angles of people at rhythmic moments gave a sense of anonymity. Bumping against dancers, accepting that we were part of a collective moment together only to not see each other again. The juxtaposition between the hot, crowded dancer floor, being shaking by movement and bass, and the moments after leaving the club where you are hit with brisk air and silence, always reminded me that these short moments of proximity are reminders that I am actually not as alone as I think I am.

This mix is chaotic yet purposeful, being driven by bass and fast rhythms. It is heavily inspired by moments described prior and the catharsis  of these feelings. I hope you enjoy!"
