Finally going back was nothing but great, and celebrating Ten years of Mayan Warrior (and nine of myself being involved with it) made it even more unique. Every time we linked with Robot Heart in the past meant a lot to me because it was a vibrant proof of the hard work behind the whole operation and what we are as a community, so playing at this years link night having the cherry on top of maxa camp’s deer as a special guest was the best comeback I could have asked for. Playing surrounded by people I love in front of all this magical creatures creating one big single entity reminded me why I do what I do… Thank you all."

Embracing the Playa's first light at the Maxa Art Car 🦌✨ during the beautiful sand storm that created a sci-fi atmosphere like no other. The sun kissed the desert, and the beats filled the air. Grateful for the magic of the best Burning Man ever, and these incredible sunrise vibes.
Thank you so much to our Maxa Family for inviting me to play on Monday/Tuesday night, my favourite one, the night that I always played at our beloved Mayan Warrior.

¨Our set at the Mayan Warrior during Burning Man was a blast! It was our final performance of the week, and every ounce of inspiration we had gathered poured out in that moment. As we played through the night, surrounded by the iconic Mayan Warrior flames, we grooved and danced, letting the energy flow freely together with such an excited audience ! At one point, Thomas even climbed on top of the car to sing, feeling entirely at one with the crowd and the desert. The night was electric, a surreal experience. Thank you all for dancing and thank you Mayan Warrior.¨

¨The Man has just finished burning, it’s time to gently start the groove.
i’ve been selecting music for this moment for the past few weeks but i’m still unsure of what to come up with… opening the night is like starting on a blank canva. i open with a poem of Dylan Thomas, as i did the first time i played the Mayan Warrior in 2019, then these few dub techno tracks i’ve been obsessed with lately… more and more people are coming, i love how we’re dancing in this such unique « burning man way » out there on the playa. i’ll take a deep breath for a couple track and ready to lift-off !! a dust storm arrives… what a time to be alive!!

Mayan Warrior is the result of a collaborative project that has united artists, craftsmen, photographers, designers, technologists, architects and musicians from Mexico City and Northern California. 

The project’s original intent was to present to the world the incredible ascent of contemporary Mexican electronic music while paying respect to the deep and ancient sources from which that visual and auditory culture had grown.


Both light and sound are curated by some of the world’s most prominent artists to transport participants to the very origins of the culture – and to a new understanding of contemporary electronic expression.

AND YES: Mayan Warrior is driven from Mexico City to the playa – and back – each year. It's a labor of love and we're glad so many people enjoy it.
