Tulum Come Down

This mix is inspired by two incredible weeks I spent in Tulum, Mexico to begin the new year. I'm grateful to have been able to play music with some extremely talented artists, at some amazing venues, both indoor and outdoor.  From the pristine white sand beaches, to the tropical heat of the jungle, to the dusty pavement of the small town, one can really feel a magical connection with this land. We danced with passion, explored the jungle, swam in cenotes, slept on the beach, took naps in hammocks, ate phenomenal fresh local cuisine, watched the sunset and sunrise daily, and celebrated life with many beautiful friends, both old and new. This mix is dedicated to all those wonderful people. The sonic journey ends with a field recording I made on the last day; one final rain shower to wash away any and all remaining negative energy. I hope this mix relaxes you and takes you on positive journey, guiding you into a healthy and prosperous 2016.  ~ Sabo

We certainly felt the energy during our Sol Selectas showcase, and the 5 days that followed, taking in the sunshine and positive vibes  this sacred land provides, to those who stop to be present, and listen. The project’s original intent was to present to the world the incredible ascent of contemporary Mexican electronic music while paying respect to the deep and ancient sources from which that visual and auditory culture had grown.


Both light and sound are curated by some of the world’s most prominent artists to transport participants to the very origins of the culture – and to a new understanding of contemporary electronic expression.

AND YES: Mayan Warrior is driven from Mexico City to the playa – and back – each year. It's a labor of love and we're glad so many people enjoy it.
