I was really nervous on the way to the playa but once I started playing and saw all these lovely people dancing and enjoying my music all the weight fell off. It was the most special and magical gig I ever played and I want to thank the whole community and everybody at the Mayan Warrior camp for making this happen. We had the pleasure to play at a festival which was back in the days always a special part of the downtempo scene and since everything is going a bit faster these days, we found it just appropriate to dive back into the sounds we then fell in love with. 
Sharing this moment with our beloved friends was just the tip of the iceberg of an even more special festival day!
We are so grateful to everyone who shared this day with us, which we will remember for a long time to come.

"Opening the new Mayan Warrior art car felt like a surreal dream – but it was real. My body was playing the notes, my friend Morlin beside me. I felt the vibration of the vehicle and heard the mighty sound from the stacks. I gazed out over the vast desert, and when I looked back, I was awestruck by the massive light sculptures. Around me, I felt countless souls – dancing, listening, feeling, creating, connecting. Even weeks later, the echoes of this moment are still with me.

The project’s original intent was to present to the world the incredible ascent of contemporary Mexican electronic music while paying respect to the deep and ancient sources from which that visual and auditory culture had grown.


Both light and sound are curated by some of the world’s most prominent artists to transport participants to the very origins of the culture – and to a new understanding of contemporary electronic expression.

AND YES: Mayan Warrior is driven from Mexico City to the playa – and back – each year. It's a labor of love and we're glad so many people enjoy it.
