"Last year a big dream came true! When I was invited to play at Burning Man on the iconic Mayan Warrior Stage I couldn’t believe it. I was really nervous on the way to the playa but once I started playing and saw all these lovely people dancing and enjoying my music all the weight fell off. It was the most special and magical gig I ever played and I want to thank the whole community and everybody at the Mayan Warrior camp for making this happen. Playing on the Robot Heart bus at Burning Man is a dream I’ll never get tired of living. Robot Heart is a constant source of inspiration to me and so many others! Grateful for the opportunity to play on the bus again. 

This year (2024), my set time was Monday Morning at 7:00 am so I wanted to prepare something special for the beginning of an unforgettable week. 

I decided to play a live set filled with most of the Edits/Remixes I’ve made along the years (for example: Edits/Remixes I’ve made of Alice Coltrane, Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, Michelle Gurevich, Acid Pauli, Nicolas Jaar, Fred Again, etc…). 

I honestly couldn’t be happier with the result of this experiment! 

Massive thanks to the Robot Heart fam and everyone who was there!

A podcast I recorded for my friends at Quarks & Quaaludes (@quarksandquaaludes), aired on Saturo Sounds (@saturo-sounds) last Saturday.

"So then, let’s suppose that you were able every night to dream any dream you wanted to dream, and that you could for example have the power within one night to dream 75 years of time, or any length of time you wanted to have.

But now let’s have a surprise, let’s have a dream which isn’t under control, where something is gonna happen to me that I don’t know what it's gonna be.

That would be within the infinite multiplicity of choices you would have. Of playing that you weren't god, because the whole nature of the godhead, according to this idea, is to play that he is not. So in this idea then, everybody is fundamentally the ultimate reality, not god in a politically kingly sense, but god in the sense of being the self, the deep-down basic whatever there is. And you are all that, only you are pretending you are not."

Malin is a sound practitioner and DJ/musician. She has over 10 years experience of providing music at festivals and events worldwide from Burning Man to Brazil. Malin studied with Tony Nec at Sound Healing Academy in London and has since then hosted sessions for clients such as Equinox, Lululemon, Reebook, the Mandrake Hotel and Shoreditch House in London. This summer Malin led sound meditations at Soho Roc House in Mykonos where she also was one of the resident DJs at Scorpios.

Mayan Warrior is the result of a collaborative project that has united artists, craftsmen, photographers, designers, technologists, architects and musicians from Mexico City and Northern California. 

The project’s original intent was to present to the world the incredible ascent of contemporary Mexican electronic music while paying respect to the deep and ancient sources from which that visual and auditory culture had grown.


Both light and sound are curated by some of the world’s most prominent artists to transport participants to the very origins of the culture – and to a new understanding of contemporary electronic expression.

AND YES: Mayan Warrior is driven from Mexico City to the playa – and back – each year. It's a labor of love and we're glad so many people enjoy it.
