Live @ Fusion Festival 2023

Hello everyone, last year, as Christina and I made our first journey to Burning Man, excitement would be understated with plans to deliver an electrifying set at the iconic Robot Heart Bus after Lee Burridge. However, nature had other plans — unprecedented heavy rains and flooding at the event meant that, unfortunately, my performance could not go ahead. 

On my recent US tour, our ever-supportive friend, Benjamin from Robert Heart and the rest of the crew, extended a heartfelt invitation to play at their unique San Francisco-Oakland residency. 

This mix is not just a set; it's a token of appreciation to all who were there and an offering to those who couldn’t join us. 

Immerse yourself in a slice of the magic from that night. Whether you're listening from near or far, I hope it transports you right there with us. 

Looking forward to the next gathering at the Robot Heart residency in San Francisco / Oakland on May 9th.

Everything we knew about live House & Techno was completely blown away during this set as Rodriguez Jr. gave us the performance of a life time. Described by him as "One of the best parties he's ever played", the vibe was on another level, the music was through the roof, and his performance had everyone in a musical frenzy. We all had a feeling that Rodriguez Jr. was going to be the highlight of our Desert Hearts Spring Festival, but we had no idea that he was about to set the bar for every DJ & Performer at our festival moving forward. From late night sets in Miami to blowing our minds at Burning Man, it became pretty apparent to us early on that Öona Dahl is a trippy chick.  Her music, her style, and everything about Öona is fascinating and it's been an absolute pleasure getting to know her over the years. We knew we had to bring her into the Desert Hearts Family after an extended time hanging with her at Pile Palace in 2016. We wanted to give her a time slot that allowed her to flex her musical versatility and we knew there's no better time to spread those wings than Sunday sunrise. To be honest, we've been waiting to put this set out ever since we first conceptualized the idea of D Laz playing DH. Damian has been one of our favorite DJs and a constant inspiration for us over the years. He’s the only person we’ve given a 4 hour set to and he turned it into something that went down in history alongside the best sets we’ve ever seen at the fest.

This was my first Fusion Festival, popped my Fusion cherrrrry!!! 

I arrived just before my set , they took me to the stage in a car covered in graffiti that looked like it was taken out of the garbage dump, but blended in perfectly with the surroundings, and had an extra roar that gave it its character when the dreadlocked driver pushed on the gas. I found labels and trinkets in the car from many years ago.   Totally added to the experience. 

Arrived to Kerala Dust playing live, and thousands of people in front of me. 

What i loved about this stage, is that it was just about 10 inches off the ground , so still had that intimate connection to the crowd.  Thats something I struggle with sometimes at festivals, being high up on a stage and the distance between the crowd with those metal barriers disconnecting us. 

The actual set felt electric, the vibes were fresh, and they were high, so i fed on that fresh energy and we danced till sunset.  I even got a polaroid from a lady **if you know who you are ** say hi -----     that said hero on it.   

super touching experience, was soooo short and sweet. 

ill never forget my experience with Floyd Lavine, who i got to hang out with for an hour.  he came to my set at the beginnning and was total fan boy, totally unexpected.   afterwards i ran into him in the artist grounds, and we hung out danacing and talking with his gf and his friends somehow the conversation turned to politics, and it got heated.   not that i know anything about politics, :)

Back at the start of lockdown, label boss Man Power set the challenge to remix a track he created that day in 2 hours.

The idea behind the challenge being to set yourself limitations as a producer - be that time, or only using certain software/equipment - and to finish the arrangement completely.

The amount of stellar remixes we received was astounding and hence we've arrived at this point, a compilation of all those amazing remixes being released on the label with all profits going to NHS Charities Together.

Mayan Warrior is the result of a collaborative project that has united artists, craftsmen, photographers, designers, technologists, architects and musicians from Mexico City and Northern California. 

The project’s original intent was to present to the world the incredible ascent of contemporary Mexican electronic music while paying respect to the deep and ancient sources from which that visual and auditory culture had grown.


Both light and sound are curated by some of the world’s most prominent artists to transport participants to the very origins of the culture – and to a new understanding of contemporary electronic expression.

AND YES: Mayan Warrior is driven from Mexico City to the playa – and back – each year. It's a labor of love and we're glad so many people enjoy it.
