Lightning in a Bottle LIB 2022 Live Sets

This set is very different genre-wise from what I’ve made before, I realize it won’t be for everyone, but in terms of storytelling and curation, this is a classic JRynecki mix. 

Before I became a self-proclaimed house music head, I fell in love with liquid drum & bass. In my unconscious impossible pursuit of becoming a music snob in my mid- late 20’s, I disregarded anything I didn’t listen to at the time as music of my past, like something I had outgrown and could disregard. 

  Good music is timeless, and over the last few years, I found my way back to the genre that I loved so much in my early raver days and realized I still love it today. Coincidently, I also started to notice some of my favorite producers diving into the liquid genre with a few limited LP’s. Anthony Mea, Janeret, among others. 

  Heavy basslines of classic drum & bass are still present, yet the sub-genre of liquid can be much more melodic- filled with powerful sassy vocals and a wide range of organic instruments.   

 I love listening to this genre during idea creation, coupled with a cup of coffee, on a drive, or during a workout. I find it extremely therapeutic, I hope this mix does the same for you, enjoy!

It was a honor to be asked to drop a set at The Junkyard at this years Lightning in a Bottle. What a show. It was my first time there and I can see why it why it has a loyal and huge following. All I can say is I tried to bring my vibes to the festivities and it was a damn good time.

Live from The Unicorn Palace at Lightning in a Bottle 2022!

The Unicorn Palace was kind enough to invite me to play on Sunday at 6pm at LIB. This was my first festival gig and oh man, I was nervous. But I was so lucky to have so many wonderful friends come and support me and everything went off without a hitch. I had SO much fun and can't wait to do that again! Please enjoy this set of all of my favorite tracks of the moment. My artistry is to create musical adventures. Tales that weave through the space and energy of the moment. This story was one built in the land of fairy tales where anything can come true. Grounds that radiate magic that shapes and rebirths all in its glow.

This story is one of darkness to light. An emotional tale of intensity, catharsis that leads to the well-earned blissful reprieve that life always brings us after difficult times.

A set that starts in the depths of the night then welcomed in the golden light of day with embraces, smiles and tears of joy.

As the decks were not warmed up before I jumped on, I made the decision to really ease into my sound and build towards peak moments. In the past, I have been guilty of coming into sets guns blazing, like a wild animal released from a cage. I guess knowing when to bring which foot forward is part of my maturing into a more complete Tune Selecta & Human being.

Enjoy the ride and feel free to skip forward depending on your mood. If you want to fast-track the vegetables and go straight to the desert it's totally fair game.

An unplanned joining of our set times turned into one of the most special b2b sets we have performed thus far. The electricity in the air was unforgettable. And for that reason we would like to share this set with you all. We have layered  the acoustic audio over the set so you can hopefully feel the energy of the dance floor on that incredible night.
