Nami - You Need

Lifestyle Music have been asserting themselves as one of the most game-changing independent imprints to come through in recent years. For their forthcoming release, they’ve brought duo Volatile Cycle into the fold; the second edition of their ‘Volatile Cycle & Friends’ EP delivers four cut-throat anthems which are sure to put both Volatile Cycle and their featuring artists into the clubsphere’s forefront. Vowel comes through first with the effortlessly-tech driven record ‘Dispersed’, pulled forward by his crashing drum sequences and swathes of clattering percussion. Volatile Cycle show their eye for indentifying upcoming talent through ‘Dispersed’, one more reason why they’ve become such a defining part of the Lifestyle Music roster. Wingz joins Volatile Cycle for ‘Time’s Up’, with its moody levels of bass and creeping atmospherics. An apt track for the darker months, ‘Time’s Up’ brings a brooding production standard and an intimidating technicality – the type which has become a standard for Lifestyle and their back catalogue. 

Long-time collaborator Barbarix jumps on board alongside Volatile Cycle for ‘Trauma’, a hectic journey which utilises crunching LFOs and gradually builds segment after segment. Then finally, London-based Philth offers up ‘Nowhere’, merging his minimalist, rolling style amongst Volatile Cycle’s chaotic signature. With four brand new tracks about to be released on Lifestyle, given a platform by an imperative part of their team, the label is entering the latter half of 2018 as strong as ever... another reason why they’re becoming tastemakers within the underground world of drum & bass.

Bredren have been steadily carving out their own niche for several years now, to ever more acclaim. Last year they started their own Bredren Invites night at the legendary Fuse club in Brussels, their home stomping grounds, to showcase their style alongside likeminded spirits such as SpectraSoul, S.P.Y., Alix Perez and Skeptical.

Rampage invited them to bring the concept to the stage of the biggest drum&bass and dubstep party in the world, and bring a few of their resident dj’s along for the ride. To celebrate this appearance, they put together an EP with all the dj’s that joined them; Phase, MC Mota, One87, M-zine and Scepticz: four excursions into the deep end of the drum&bass spectrum.
