The sound of the German musician and music producer Jan Blomqvist is by now unmistakable. Deep and fat analog bass pads, layered and breathing dynamically, creating a melodic rhythmic drive and upbeat-yet-melancholic chords upon which Jan’s signature vocals play. His voice is what stands him apart from most live club and electronic concerts acts today, with his nonchalant monotonic verses, soaring refrain hooks, fuzzy distant tonal atmospheres and almost always on-point lyrics. All this is is spliced with massive club beats consisting always of 808 kick-drums, vintage drum-machine toms and hand-made, hand-played percussion grooves.
You can get a feeling for his sound when you listen to the audio of his 2 albums, numerous EPs, Remixes and Features (in total over 80 released tracks) on your turntables, headphones or stereo, but that feeling will pale in comparison to the feeling from the full experience of being in the crowd, on the danceﬂoor when he plays them live. You will know what we mean if you have been at one of his 700 live concerts in the past 10 years. The near-overwhelming positive feedback and encouragement from fans and promoters has had him on constant tour, all over the world since 2012.

After their previous joint venture as producers and remixer respectively in Dissonance’s last single “Dark Glow”, Dissonance and Mike Dazzer now join forces presenting their new collaborative single “Melange”.

As its slightly poorly written french meaning indicates, “Melange” represents a well-defined mixture of both Dissonance and Mike Dazzer’s melodic, deep and rhythmic styles of Progressive House. With catchy melodies and powerful basslines, “Melange” falls well within the usual ALT14 catalogue of tracks aimed to please listeners both at home and at the club.

If you don’t already know Dissonance, their project kicked off in 2017 in their hometown Zaragoza. Aiming to fulfill their own vision of melodic-driven and powerful bassline-filled music, Dissonance try to combine the best of the mainstream and underground music while letting their creativity run wild. Their combined effort earned them the support of relevant artists such as Dirty South, Sebjak, Crusy or Anderblast, among many others.

Mike Dazzer began his music production journey in 2012, although it wasn’t until 2015 that he started to release his works on progressive house-oriented labels. After several years of genre-gazing exploration, Mike Dazzer found safe haven in the most melodic and progressive sides of Techno and House music, around which he’s trying to make a turning point in his career.
