Télépopmusik's Breathe has always stayed with me. Hard to believe it turns 20 this month. 

There are a bazillion reinterpretations of this track, here is mine. I have reframed the vocals around an equally emotive, understated melodic progressive house track called Connaisseur by Olderic & Peter Pardeike. This edit originally appeared on Episode 064 ('The Untethered Radio') of my Music For Small Audiences podcast in May of 2018.

Sam Davies - Cosmos (FIM's Ten Tonne Truck Edit feat Erlend Oye)

A simple edit comprised of the Ferry Corsten remix of Libra (aka BT)& Jan Johnson's "Calling Your Name" from 1999, combined with Alexey Sonar & Sebastian Weikum - Monsoon (which came out last year). I've always loved the Ferry Corsten remix, and made this edit so that I could play it in my sets.

The original was a highlight of Deep Dish's Global Underground 025 CD1, here brought into 2016 with the assistance of Guy J.

Guy J & Seroya - Only Your Love (FIM's Bungalow MFSA Edit)

The centrepiece of my guest mix for Wes Straub's episode 100 of 709Sessions on Digitally Imported, as broadcast on January 22, 2016. I loved the melodic elements of Tom Middleton's version of Skin Deep, but struggled with the broken beats. Here the consistently excellent Little Helpers label provides "154-2", a deep groove by Ghigo that provides just enough structure to reframe the Middleton remix as an understated four-to-the-floor.

The laid-back early-90s house bomb House For All by Blunted Dummies, laid cleanly alongside Robert Babicz's Hope. Put this together a few years ago and really like how it evolves from start to finish.

A re-edit of Dousk's Winchme with the vocals from Delilah's "Inside My Love", as featured on by guest mix for 709 Sessions' five-year anniversary broadcast on DI.fm in September 2012. 125BPM, Eb minor.

A pretty simple mashup that I've had for a while, but having just seen a post on Reddit, I thought I'd post it up here to share. I've loved the breakdown from Peaktwins - Dreamer ever since I first heard it, but I don't play a lot of 140BPM+ trance in my sets any more. Here I've wrapped the key melodic bits around a quality Paul Keeley track. I think they sit well together, and this edit gives me the chance to play Peaktwins to a wider audience.

Here's a little something fun I made late one evening in my good friend Kevin's kitchen in Calgary a few years ago. It started with me looping the bassline from a new wave tune by The Monks that Kevin and I both knew from our youth (1979 it came out) and bringing it in under another tune I was playing - a vocal EDX tune. It sounded pretty good, and so I took some time to properly put the two together, snipping in a bit of the vocals from the original and structuring it out so it was playable. I enjoy sneaking this into my sets now and then - hope you enjoy listening to it. 

The Monks - Drugs In My Pocket (FIM's EDX AOL)

There are a lot of timeless melodies in trance, and MIKE (aka Plastic Boy, aka Push, aka a whole bunch else) has created quite a few of them. The challenge for me is figuring out a way to work them into my sets in a way that works with most of what I play these days. 

This edit is a combination of two lovely melodic tunes - one a classic trance track, the other a Joris Voorn remix of an equally classic melodic techno / progressive house track. Neither are new; both are timeless. It appears just past the two hour mark in episode 077 of my podcast, Music For Small Audiences.
