Columbian DJ and producer Cato Anaya follows up his recent Afro house hit for us (“La Noche”) with another Latin-influenced killer. This time collaborating with Presi On (who you will know from his current smash with Renate, Marcus Santoro & Kuuda on Blond:ish’s Abracadabra label (“The World”), the versatile producer leans on another Latin classic for sample inspiration. Even though “Guantanamera” is a Cuban standard, the melody is known around the world and it works perfectly as a breakdown tonic in Anaya & Presi On’s percussion workout. Like Presi On’s release with Blond:ish, we can see this one working with a wide range of DJs, its pulsating groove delivering the kind of energy that will work on lots of floors.

About a month ago, I was given the opportunity to play at a pop up coffee & music event for Espresso Sessions @ 10am. When they reached out to me, they were looking for someone to play melodic and deep house. It’s a genre I rarely get to play in front of an audience but one that I keep coming back to listen to over the last 5 years, and the genre that introduced me to house music. I'm glad I get to pay homage to it.

Roland Clark, the voice and creative force behind the original, is nothing short of a house music legend. Known for his unmistakable spoken-word vocals and profound influence on the genre, Clark’s career spans over two decades. He has collaborated with luminaries such as David Guetta, Todd Terry, and Armin van Buuren, and holds a place in Pete Tong’s BBC Hall of Fame. His track I Get Deep remains one of the most beloved and enduring pieces in house music history.

Kashovski’s remix pays homage to the original while pushing it into fresh territory. Crisp, percussive drums drive the track forward, while Clark’s legendary vocal is woven seamlessly into a hypnotic, danceable arrangement.
