Written some time between 2002 and 2004, probably finished in 2004. I found this on an old mp3 player (Olympus M:Robe, marketed as mp3 player-Marylin Manson to Bono's iPod...) about 10 years ago. One day I might revisit the old stuff but it's trapped on an even older harddrive that hasn't spun in over a decade...

This is the album concept I retconned after mixing the last track (they were all done in the order they appear):

A soundtrack to the journey of the Starship My Art Is A Thinly Veiled Allegory For The Sometimes Frustrating Search For Beauty Hidden Often All Too Deeply Amidst The Confusingly Obnoxious Noise And Unending Onslaught Of Disappointments In Daily Life.
From the intense yet often illogical preparations and machinations of the powerful forces that control her financing and construction, through the superficially exuberant - yet ultimately fragile-to-near-self-destruction - and frenetic launch we arrive, challenged and shaken, in interplanetary space. The transorbital quietude and weightless meanderings of her plucky yet naiive crew entertain us for a while. We ultimately approach our intended destination full of wonder, hope, and perhaps even apathy.
Was this alien world the true goal, or merely a mythologised incentive to lead us on a journey from which we ultimately profit more than some desolate rock so far from our home planet? Too late, the stage has been set and we are all merely players.
