Local Action is proud to announce a new sibling label, Clasico, curated and operated by ELEANOR.

Clasico will be focused on cutting edge global club music, and was inspired by a series of label trips to North America in 2022 and the energy, community and friendships that we built there. The inaugural release on the label comes from Coffintexts, an ascendent Miami-based artist who has quickly become a key figure in the city’s current hotbed of club music talent. 

A steady stream of releases across the last few years, both solo and collaborating with the likes of INVT and Jonny from Space, have seen Peruvian-American artist Coffintexts emerge as one of the most exciting new names in contemporary club music, with DJ support coming from Pearson Sound, Dixon, Charlotte de Witte, Volvox, Eclair Fifi, Nick Leon, Florentino and more. 

As well as contributing to compilations from the likes of Femme Culture, Coffintexts was behind one of the stand-out tracks on Danny Daze’s scene-setting Homecore! Miami All Stars compilation last October, and recently performed her first Boiler Room and Keep Hush streams, on top of recent festival appearances at Okeechobee, III Points and more. Press-wise, she’s had glowing write-ups in Resident Advisor, DJ Mag, Mixmag, Crack, Untitled 909 and more. 

Driven by flawless percussion throughout and punctuated by her own vocal hooks that stay with you from the first listen, Touch is a perfect summation of what makes Coffintexts so special. Opening track ‘Ur Body So Smooth’ feels like the perfect intersection between contemporary Miami, classic UK Funky and mid-2000s US house, with vocals from collaborator Gaby G. Title track ‘Touch’ takes things harder with big 909 hats over a warehouse bassline, while ‘Toxic’ hones in on the hypnotic combination of voice and percussion which has felt like a trademark of previous Coffintexts releases. Finally, ‘Activo’ slows things down for a Latin percussion workout, heavy on atmosphere and automation.

It's no secret that we're massive Rory Sweeney fans. The producer has carved out a distinct lane for himself within a sea of the same, consistently bringing something new, fun and innovative to the table.

ULTRAPOLLEN has come through with a wicked remix of Rory & Kayleigh Noble's 'Needy' and it blends two of our favourite things - the best parts of the Sweeney-verse and a cloudcore, dreamy percussive aesthetic. The result is a tears-in-the-club bass banger that will have you crying front-left.

Presenting "Caught Up", by @neanatrax – mostly known for his already legendary contributions to the iconic Night Slugs label –  and @eddingtonagain, who has recently collaborated with the likes of Boys Noize and Perera Elsewhere.

With “Caught Up”, the two of them show off their chemistry by taking the listener on a blurry, energetic and intense night out, where modern rhythms, classic house tropes, 2-step and memory loss quickly blend into each other.

This is the first Single released off "Mercury", our long-awaited next Compilation release. "Mercury" is a six-track-VA featuring all original vocals by emerging Berlin-based artists. It is intended as a tribute to all the uncredited mostly femme BIPOC vocalists, who left their mark in electronic music only for their names and contributions to be forgotten.

After several releases on our sibling label 2 B REAL and a Mixtape Club contribution for the ages, Local Action welcomes Martyn Bootyspoon to the label for ‘Malware Trance’, a peak-time dose of pure exe.stascy.

Combining a wild-eyed synth lead with drums that recall the God-given bounce of Paul Johnson and DJ Funk, ‘Malware Trance’ is the definition of doing a lot with a little, working a deceptively simple loop into a state of anxious euphoria - and already proving a highlight in DJ sets by Ben UFO, Teki Latex, Batu and more.

In Bootyspoon's words, "Like most of my hits, the song’s composition kind of snuck up on me in the studio - maliciously. My most mirthful state in the studio is when I’m programming synths & drums to sound like they’re deteriorating while on the razor’s edge of becoming undanceable. I came out on top, I hit the pocket. Melodically I achieved the panic-feeling of being seconds away from bricking your family desktop computer with a sinister .exe file."

This is my entry for the 182th edition of the KVR One Synth Challenge where all sounds were generated using the Charlatan 3 VST plugin using mix of free included effects in Ableton Live 11.
I hope you enjoy it and feel free to offer any comments on how I might improve it if I were to do a remix for a wider release.
