Street Hop (Man of the Year Remix)

MC Solar Wind's very first mixtape.  A collection of songs written from 2007 to 2009 and recorded mostly in Massachusetts and released while living in Washington DC.  A couple of these songs have been re-recorded but the majority were recorded in 2009.  I hope you enjoy this as much as I enjoyed writing and recording the album.  Thanks to Ivan "Dream It" Almeida and G-Ammo for producing the original tracks on the album.

Mixtape was released first on Datpiff but that site has since went down.

I guess you could call this an Archive now.

This song was written in 2011 after a significant snowstorm hit the Northeast.  I was up late studying at the Bloomberg terminal when something strong, like a Wind, swept over me.  I hustled back into my room and wrote down the words that the Wind showed me.  I hope that you enjoy this song and that you feel the peace that it has given me - I want that to be your peace too. Poking fun at the hypocrisy of mainstream, synchronized news sources demonizing individuals for possessing original thoughts or challenging narratives, MC Solar Wind asks "Is it worth my time for me to even speak" and "define dangerous, the lie or the truth; repetitive news, misaligned leviathan clues".
