It is a call to action to support the voices of the herbalists, healers, and teachers… the roots, plants, trees, and stones… the arts, the spirits, and the wild ones. It is an honoring of all the many ways that we can be well, and the radical and traditional ways in which we can steward health within ourselves. 

This song is a direct tribute to the people around the world who are holding and teaching these ways of herbal plant-based medicine, educating us all to know our gardens, our forests, our plants and our own bodies... to bring wellness back into our own hands and communities. It is not a dismissal of modern medicine, but a gratitude and honoring of its ancestry and foundations within folkloric traditions. 

This release comes on the New Moon after the Fall Equinox. As we are moving into a new season, a new time, and a new chapter, we offer this song as a ritual anthem for this transition and time of great change.

Music legend, Majek Fashek teams up with 2Baba for No More Sorrow, a re-worked version of his 90’s hit track Holy Spirit from the 1991 Spirit of Love album. The classic song is reintroduced to a new generation of music enthusiasts via this updated version produced by Majek and mixed/mastered by Wole Oni.

'No More Sorrow' is a soul-lifting song in which Majek prophecies about Eldorado, a future where humanity lives in peace and harmony. With lyrics are heavily inspired by Biblical scriptures, Majek and 2Baba, two of the most critically acclaimed African performers of the last quarter of a century serve a message of hope to a world grappling with strife and seemingly unending crises.

2Baba who has repeatedly listed Majek Fashek as one of his biggest influences shines effortlessly beside the returning reggae legend on a song he has identified as one of his favourite Majek classics. Celebrating the life of Binah Zing, this E.P. was written in the wake of the passing of a brilliant soul, who's life and purpose wove spells of deep magic into the core of my being... 

'Binah's Dream' was created and recorded in the first hours after I learned of my sweet sister/collaborator/muse/ancient friends' death. 'Life As Art', was then written just a few weeks after and produced with Entheo at OneDoorLand, Binah's artist sanctuary. The Remix for 'Unstoppable Joy' was made in her honor, again by very dear friends Entheo (Theo and Amma Grace), who share my love of the exquisite genius elf that is our beloved Binah. 

Words fall short to describe her impact and legacy on my life and on the lives of thousands of others. I offer this music as a gift to our community, to all the ones who loved her deep. May these songs honor her memory and be a reminder of the preciousness of love, the sacredness of soul kin, the power of creativity, and the blessing of living our life as art.
