"A la fin du 17ème siècle, Jean et Paul sont deux amis protestants, qui vivent dans une vallée cévenole. Alors que l'édit de Fontainebleau supprimant la liberté de culte pour les protestants du Royaume a été ratifié par Louis XIV quelques années plus tôt, Jean et Paul sont confrontés à la persécution des leurs et d'euxmêmes par les soldats du Roi. Jean rêve de vengeance et de révolte, tandis que Paul n'est pas partisan de cette solution…"
