The first 15 minutes of this episode covers my background in sports from high school up through my time working at Vanderbilt University.  The last few minutes cover the origins of the McBalla nickname.

This week I interviewed a high school student-athlete to get their perspective on what it's like to compete at this level.  We hear firsthand what it is like to balance athletics and academics and dive into the relationships with coaches and teachers.

The first 20 mins of the show we discuss AAU basketball and it's effects on athletes both developing and socially.  We wrap up the last 10 minutes talking about how men/women & boys/girls differ in competition, at every level, in terms of how they prepare.

Carlee highlights what it was like working for NAIA program for 2 seasons.  She dives into classroom expectations for athletes along with debunking some NAIA myths.
