I’ve always loved this song. It was originally recorded by Diamond Rio in 2000. The band is not keen on recording these acoustic folky tunes. I decided to toss this one out there on my own. It has 4 vocal tracks and 4 guitar tracks. It differs from the original, in the instrumental sections. The original had a signature riff which I replaced with more of a bluegrass feel. Hope you enjoy it.

I broke my back in eighth grade and missed a semester of school. My science teacher brough me the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band's Uncle Charlie to listen to. I loved it. This is one of the songs on that album.

Bojangles

McCracken Band was started by Kevin McCracken as a songwriting and recording project. Joined by Joe Shields (drums) and Stephen Berry (Keys), who have been indispensable in arranging  Kevin's songs. After 2 years of playing together, Rick Alley (bass) augmented the trio. The group meets one night each week and has done all recording on their own. Their work is a labor of love.
