Been a minute man
Bout 4 years since I wrote that first piece and
Not in the position or direction I wanted to be at

I shackled my dreams as if I still had a brain

A different language to be speaking oh you fluent now?

Never focused on your craft no wonder you whack
And now you graduating soon imagine if you ran it back
And took a different approach by reaching something else
Or just dropped out from the get go, all heartfelt
Now chasing happiness nowhere to found
At least you got your degree to make your family proud

It's stressful when you constantly compare son

Truthfully sometimes I never follow through
Rather than go outside I'd rather be in solitude
And either zone out or get a chance to write
It's my optimism as I chase for a better life
I got resistance because I reached for handouts
While going for one goal I leave one foot out
Discretely write line after line is my liberation
Just trust the process all it takes is patience
