Next up on Industry Standard we bring you a Remix and the Original Demo mix of ‘Body Talk’, the last release on the label from Oliver Dollar & Mike ‘Agent X’ Clark, feat. D13.

The remix comes courtesy of Detroit’s Andrés, who has also recorded for many years on labels such as Mahogani Music, KDJ, Rebirth, Beretta, MotorCity Wine and Mondo Records. He comes with a fresh low-slung, soul laden, deep house cut that oozes his quality production.

The ‘Original Demo Mix’ is the more stripped back version of the original, with an elastic live disco bassline, guitar licks, cowbells, xylophone chimes, lush string / horn sections, and has an arpeggiated synth line to take you away.

This release, with all sets of mixes, dropped on vinyl courtesy on Spot Lite, Detroit in April this year. The venue, gallery and record store in Detroit, where Industry Standard now host their label parties. So this is a collaborative release with IS releasing the digital, and Spot Lite the vinyl. A match made in heaven!

A defining moment in early 2000s minimal, Physical Fraction marked Trentemøller’s breakthrough with its razor-sharp groove and a restless sense of motion. Released in 2005 on Audiomatique, the track balances precision with an almost unhinged energy, tight percussion and warped synth stabs twist around a rolling, bass-heavy framework, building tension with surgical control. While rooted in minimal techno, there’s an unmistakable rawness in its execution, a hint of electro-infused chaos that sets it apart from the era’s more sterile productions. This was Trentemøller before the cinematic melancholy, crafting club music that felt alive, unpredictable, and utterly magnetic.

The sixth instalment of our Incantations mix series – exploring the sounds that fall beyond the remits of the club – comes from HAAi. The London-based DJ's profile has risen considerably in the past year or so, since she became Brixton nightclub Phonox's new resident in 2016. Her sets have garnered universal praise for their willingness to challenge what does and doesn't belong on a London dancefloor. She brings a similar sense of adventure to this series, wending through psychedelic workouts, submerged percussion and Turkish rock — most notably deploying the ever welcome "Cemalim" by Erkin Koray. This one is not to be missed.
